The younglings are not well

Bless my younglings are not well. My eldest started it all with a bad cough and a temperature. He was coughing so bad that he was sick. Thankfully he has been getting better since that and he just has a bit of a cough since then.

The twins have now got the bad cough and my youngest son is really getting it badly, the poor wee poppet. I have given him some Calpol to hopefully bring his temperature down. They are taking a nap at the moment so that will hopefully help as well. If not then I will have to call the NHS number and see what they can advise.

Devil boy is going out for Hogmanay. I must admit that I am looking forward to having a quiet night in. I have a few things that I would like to do that should keep me busy. I am going to shave my hair off tonight and clean the living room and take down the Christmas decorations. I really do live a rock and roll lifestyle.

Happy Christmas

Thankfully even though my eldest had a very unsettled night and it was late before I managed to get everything done I managed to get a good sleep.

We had breakfast before opening the presents. It was really nice last night watching a load of Christmas films. I just love watching white Christmas.

We all had some really funky presents and I am looking forward to watching the DVD’s that Devil Boy got for me. I have got a funky Star Wars towel as well so I am also looking forward to getting a bath so I can use it.

I managed to get out to the shops to get bread and soya milk. I took my eldest with me and he enjoyed getting out.

The day went really well. The younglings had fun but as they are still young they did not get too excited and I was careful how much sweet stuff that they had so they were not hyperactive.

I am really please that the day has gone so funkily. I just have the dishes to do and clean up. Sadly my eldest has been not sleeping well due to him having a nasty cough. We got him settled on the sofa for a bit but he asked to be settled back in his bed. He got up a few times but I am hoping that he will settle back to sleep and stay asleep.

Christmas Eve already

It has come around so quickly.

I have managed to get some shopping done and even though I braved the supermarket it went well and I got what I needed. I also found out that one of the local shops is open tomorrow so I will be able to get some bread tomorrow as we used a lot of it for dinner.

My eldest is being very cheeky at the moment. He keeps telling people to shut up and he has started swearing again. We are just going to have to ignore him to see if he passes through the stage but I do not know what to do when he tells the twins to shut up though.

Thankfully it is getting cooler at the moment. I am just hopeful that we get a frost for tomorrow. It looks like it will be fresh tomorrow so hopefully it will keep the frost…if the frost stays that is. I am not bothered about it snowing on the day as long as it looks white then that would be lovely.

On the road to recovery and Christmas sing along

We are all beginning to feel better and the younglings appetites seem to be returning. I had to leave Homestart early yesterday due to them not being well but they seem fine and that will hopefully mean that they will be funky next year.

Devil boy and I still are not eating normally but we are eating more and our appetites are returning. So hopefully (fingerscrossed) we are all funky before long. We have decided that my stepdaughter will stop over tomorrow night as usual.

I put our Christmas tree up today. I did it while DS1 was at nursery and I put the lights on in the evening (I could not find them when I originally made up the tree) I am happy with how it looks. It is not bad as it is the first tree that I have decorated on my own.

DS1’s nursery finished earlier as he had a Christmas sing along. Though unbeknown to me the sing along was for the parents so I only caught the last song. I felt so bad for missing it and I felt stupid for having missed it. I would have loved to have seen it. Thankfully one of the teachers heard me mention that I had missed it by accident and she said that she will ask one of the parents who filmed it to pass on a copy for me to see. I think that is so funky of her to do that. While I missed it in person it will be lovely to see it. DS1 will also be able to watch it with me (he will love that)

At least I know so I will not miss next years sing along.

My DD is being strange at the moment. She developed a habit of sitting against something and rocking back and forwards. She bashes with her shoulders but her head is still catching whatever she is bashing. Her hair has been rubbed off and the skin is hard on her head. She has been bashing against the side of the cot at night so much at the moment. She can bash the cot across the room. I do know how to get her to stop. It cannot be good for her having such a disturbed sleep.

My eldest, daughter and Devil boy are ill

My eldest was sick on Saturday night. Bless him it was so sad seeing him. Thankfully he understood about using the toilet so that helped but he kept asking for medicine to make him better. He just did not understand that sadly in cases like that the best thing to do is just let the system sick it out.

Thankfully it passed quickly so that by the next day he was eating some things and not being sick. I am very pleased that it passed quickly.

I had hoped that it was going to be a one off with just my eldest being affected but bees my daughter she was sick last night and as I had to take her blankets off to get them washed she was not happy. She eventually managed to get some sleep but she woke several times and I had to bring her through into bed with Devil Boy and I for a while until she settled.

She has been thankfully fine during the day but I was just about to give them their nighttime bottles when she was upset and fussed over her bottle. I think that because I have been so busy today I have been in a flap so I sadly snapped at her. She got really upset so I sat her up right to give her a cuddle when she was sick again. She has been fine all day. Poor wee poppet no wonder she was fussing over her bottle. I felt so bad about snapping at her. After I had cleaned her up I gave her lots of cuddles and after many cuddles and constantly telling her I was sorry she seemed better (as much as is possible at the moment) I settled her off to bed as soon as possible. My youngest son also was not interested in his bottle but that could be due to getting disturbed but he could also be coming down with what she and my eldest had. I just need to make sure that I can keep well until it has passed through the rest of the Devil household. We have had to cancel my stepdaughter coming over tomorrow, as there is no point exposing her to the risk of getting ill. Especially when it is so fresh in the system.

Devil boy is not feeling well so has been sleeping on the sofa. I had to go out to the shop to get some Lemsip’s. I took one as well as I am not feeling that good at the moment. I think that was why I stood on a nail that was in a piece of wood by the neighbour’s door. I will have to ask them to move them, as that is dangerous for the younglings and us.

I have to also make sure that I get everything tidied up so that I can get to bed early, as I am up at 0630 tomorrow to take everyone to the dentist.

Christmas party for the younglings

Even though I went to bed very late last night (watching TV, getting cleaning done late and then disturbed by the younglings) I managed to get up at the time I wanted to and get everyone ready in plenty of time to get the train. I managed to get on the train with no problems and I saw some of the women who go to the Thursday homestart group so I was able to make sure that I went to the right place.

The party went well. My eldest had more fun this time, as he is older. The twins also really enjoyed it this year as well. I did not take my youngest son with me last year so it was good to take them all. There was Homestart staff there to help out as well which was nice as I went on my own.

They had an entertainer there and then Santa came along to give out the presents. My eldest got a funky dominos kit. Not the type with numbers but the ones that you stack up to knock down. My youngest son got a truck, which he really liked and my daughter got a soft toy, which she loved. Bless her she loves soft toys. She has taken it to bed with her.

My eldest was really good though. I told him that he would get 6 chocolate buttons if he stayed dry. He did do so and he also asked to go to the toilet, which I was so happy about. That meant that I let him wear his Lord Vader costume. He was really happy to wear that. Bless him he was going around telling everyone that he was Lord Vader. Hopefully it might be him getting back on track with his toilet training (hopefully)

By the time we got out it was raining so the twins were fine in their pram as I had the rain cover with me but my eldest and I got wet on the way to the train station. After lugging the pram up the steps to the platform I discovered that the next train had been cancelled. This would have meant that we would have been waiting for over an hour in the rain for the next train. Sadly there are no busses that go to where I stay that have a buggy zone on them. Thankfully I was able to phone Devil Boys mum (there was a pay pone on the platform) and her and his dad was able to pick us up from the station and take us home.

My step daughter is over for the night. She has got her DS lite with her. She was able to get it with her birthday money. It is really funky so I am definitely going to get one. I am going to wait until after Christmas though as the places that have them in stock are selling them at silly prices (at least double their recommended price) I am looking forward to getting it. I think I will get the big brain academy for it and the Sims. I am not sure what else art the moment. I will find something though.

The things they say and the challenges of toilet training

I think the things that toddlers can say are class. I was taking my eldest to nursery and as we were a little early I took my time walking over the woods. He pointed at a bit where he says Lord Vader and the robots are so I said that he could go and look at them (they are not really there but he says they) he then turned around and said to me ‘can Lord Vader come to nursery?’ I said yes and he then said ’Can he wear his nursery shoes?’ I said yes to that as well.

It really made me smile. Only a child could ask if Lord Vader could go to nursery. I had a funny vision of how that would look. I think I am going to have to turn that into a picture or a collage.

I have had to order a new table for my eldest as the high chair that he was using was getting tatty (the foam part that is) I was able to take the foam off so that he can use it for breakfast but for the other meals I have ordered a funky table and chairs for him. I had to order two extra chairs for the table but it still was not that expensive. It was really easy to put up and it looks so funky. It will mean that both my eldest and my twins can sit down to a proper table to eat their meals. Also my stepdaughter sits at it (even though she is a bit too big for it)

We have been facing some challenges with my eldest and his toilet training. He has had a lot of accidents recently. I would ask him if he needed the toilet and his reply would be ‘but my trousers are not wet’ I tried to tell him that he has to go to the toilet before his trousers get wet but he did not seem to understand that. It was really frustrating and I sadly lost my patience with him when I was walking home from nursery one day. I told him yesterday that if he manages to stay dry for his time at nursery he would get some chocolate buttons. He managed to stay dry so I am hoping that if I can give him a reward for staying dry that would help him to learn to go to the toilet before he wets his trousers.

A funky sleep and St Andrews day

I managed to get to bed at a good time last night. I worked on my eldest sons kilt before getting to sleep early. Thankfully the younglings cooperated and I get a really funky sleep. I felt so much better for it. I do have a little cold but so much better than yesterday.

Today being St. Andrews day I got my eldest dressed up for nursery as they had a tartan day. I thought more would also be dressed up but he was one of only two in the nursery who was wearing a kilt. I thought he looked really funky and he got some compliments.

I did not think about getting some haggis in though but I will have to have some next week. I will have to see if I can get a vegetarian one when I do my next food order.

My eldest has been in a strange mood today though. He has been really hyperactive. He was so at nursery. He was hitting my stepdaughter when she cam around and he was generally being rough. When he has his bath at night I sit with him in the room but I do my best to make that his wind down time. It helped a lot tonight and while he did not settle off strait away he did not do too badly. Hopefully he will be better tomorrow.

I am also going to be changing the twins sleeping routine soon. I am not too sure what I am going to do but I am going to do my best to make sure that they are both in bed for 9 at the latest so that I can get to relax a bit earlier and then get to bed earlier as well.

My eldest in a digger and my other son’s love of a potato head

They are building a new bungalow next to where we stay. The new owner is a nice guy. That is funky really as he will be next to us. They have got a digger on at the moment while they are stating things off. The builder mentioned about letting him have a shot in it. I did not really think he meant it until one day he let him have a go. He loved it and sat still with him while they did some digging together. Sadly the battery in my camera died before I was able to get any pictures. Thankfully today the guy let him go into the digger so that I could get some pictures of him. He even let him sit in the cabin on his own. He loved it and I love the look of concentration as he is sat there.

Last year for Christmas I got the younglings Star Wars potato heads for Christmas. My eldest got Darth Tater. My daughter got R2-Potatoo and my other son got Spud trooper. I kept the twins away as they were not really ready for them but recently they have enjoyed playing with them and my youngest son loves playing with it. He even took it into the bath with him and he went to sleep cuddling it last night. It is so cute seeing him walking around with it. My daughter also loves her R2-potatoo. Hehe the bits for them are getting scattered all over the place but they are having fun. I am going to get the twins Mr & Mrs potato heads for their birthday.

Sleeping getting better

The younglings are starting to sleep better now. My eldest while he woke once last night settled and slept until nearly 7. That is so funky for him. Also he is settling off to sleep well again. My other son woke up but thankfully the twins are really good at settling back to sleep if they wake up. Hopefully if they stay like that I will be able to start going to bed earlier as their sleeping will be more settled.

I have started taking my eldest out to the shops with me when I go out to get some bits in the afternoon. It has been fun actually and he has been really good around the shop. I think that it is a good idea for him to not only get the fresh air but to also get the walk to help tire him out. Today he took his Boba Fett with him and he made a woman in one of the shops laugh when she heard his constant stream of questions. Bless him he does like to ask questions.

Next door to us on a pilot of land they are building a new bungalow. I have seen the guy who owns it and who will be moving in. He is nice; it is nice to know that someone that we can get along with will be moving in.

Sadly his toilet training is still at a standstill. He had several accidents today. He wants to wear his Lord Vader costume. I have told him that if he can get through two days without having an accident that he can wear it. I had hoped that would help motivate him but sadly it has not worked.

I also have to start work on a kilt for my eldest. They are getting dressed in tartan at nursery this Friday for St Andrews day. The nursery kindly gave me some tartan that they had been given. It will be enough to make a kilt for him. I think it will be fun making it and working a style that will mean that he can get to the toilet without too many challenges.

Bad nights sleep and my eldest noticing difference skin colours

For the last few weeks my eldest has been very fickle with his sleeping. If he does not settle well at night then he wakes in the night and will not settle off again.

The last two nights the twins have also been a bit unsettled but at least they have settled off. My eldest has not been settling off well and has been waking in the night and not settling off. I really do not know what has been causing it but it has stopped me from not only getting a good sleep but also getting an early night. I do my best to go to bed once they have gone through their unsettled period. Though sadly due to my eldest not settling off back to sleep I have ended up letting him come into bed with us, as I have been so tired. I have been getting to sleep about 3am for the last two days. I slept in later than I had wanted but I obviously needed the sleep. Thankfully I was able to catch up with my morning schedule and this was one of the times when I have been thankful that my eldest goes to afternoon nursery.

It was amusing though last night. I have been reading Star Wars books to my eldest at night and he has taken to the films as well so he is getting to know the characters. Last night he turned around and said to me ‘Lando is a chocolate man’ It is the first time that he has noticed differences in skin colour. I just told him that Lando is not a chocolate man but a black man.

Unfortunately my eldest is pretty much back to square one regarding his toilet training. He is back to having accidents to it looks like taking his nighttime nappy off will be delayed again.

The rain has been a bit mad recently. It has not helped having so much rain in the summer. This has meant that even though the rain has not been that heavy it has meant that there is a lot of water around. the farmers fields are putting a lot of water out through that draining system. The stream through the wood is very high and the stream that goes through the town is also high at the moment. Hopefully the rain will stop soon.

The things they say and I am very happy with my eldest

This did not happen today but I have just remembered it. I walk across a wooded area to take my eldest to nursery. As it is autumn there are a lot of leaves on the floor and he likes to pick them up. One time he stopped and was crouched on the floor and I went up to him and I heard him say ‘got to find a leaf’ this was when he was standing in an inch deep pile of leaves. It was very cute.

At nursery today they made homemade soup. They got the younglings to help with the cooking of it and found an interesting way of getting rid of the peeling. My eldest is very fussy at home but when I asked the nursery teacher if he was the one child who did not like it she told me that he was not and that he had in fact had two plates of it. I was so pleased that he did. It is good to know that he will eat it.

After nursery I was in the park with him and I had a funky chat with one of the other mums from the nursery. It was nice to chat to her, as I normally do not get the opportunity to chat to anyone.

Mum spoke to me during the day as well. She has invited me to go to Ypres next year for the wart remembrance. I will go. I know this will sound bad I will not go for the war remembrance but as I think it will be the last time that I will get to get away with my mum, dad and brother. It is not that I do not think about the sacrifice that they made and I am very grateful for what they did it is just that I am not one for going to the parades.

Then at night I kept myself busy by downloading some music for my stepdaughter. We have got her a MP4 player for her birthday at the end of the month) so I thought it would be nice to put some music on for her. I had fun thinking of what she likes and finding the music.

I have been a busy bunny today.

I do not want to tempt fate but I think we have reached a turning point with my eldests toilet training

Last night when I was putting my eldest to bed he asked for me to take his nappy off. I told him that if he wants me to take of his nighttime nappy then he needs to make sure that he has no accidents for the next week before I do so. It is good that he has asked and today he has made a funky start. He was good at nursery and at the time when he usually has accidents he was funky. He asked again to have his nappy off again but I told him again about staying dry. I think he has got it though (fingerscrossed)

I have ordered a plastic sheet for his bed in case he has any accidents when he does get his bedtime nappy off.

I do not know what is the matter with my eldest. He has not been sleeping well at all at the moment. He keeps waking in the night and not settling. I hope that he gets back to normal soon as I do not want him to get sued to sleeping in our bed.

I was annoyed at lunchtime though as last Wednesday I got a card saying that someone tried to deliver a parcel but I was not in. They tried again the next day but I was out again. I phoned the phone number to tell them to deliver to the local post office instead but I was not happy that I did not actually speak to anyone. I kept trying the local post office and today after they told me nothing had been delivered I found a different number and spoke to someone. They told me that it was at a post office but not the one that I asked it to go to. Next time this happens I will phone the number that I phoned today. I went over to get the parcel and of course it was big and heavy. Not fun when I had a mil up and down hills to go. Thankfully one of my friend drove past and took the package home for me (he did not have room for my eldest as I had to collect him after I had got the parcel)

The twins were so cute tonight. I was just getting their bedtime bottle ready and they were playing nicely in the floor. It is so sweet seeing them interact together. At least they are settling off nicely and sleeping well (or if they wake in the night they do not get upset and settle back to sleep) We will get there though with our eldest.

Teaching my eldest to clean his room

I have managed to find out what it was that my eldest was saying that was bad. He was saying flipping hell. So all we have to do is get him to say flipping heck instead. I am so glad it was not worse than that.

He has been better at nursery this week. I have been so careful with his diet and I even cut down the amount of sugar in his porridge. He still ate it so that is funky.

After I got back from nursery I decided to take the twins out with me and as DS1 wanted to come as well. He was really good when I was out and he did as he was told strait away. It made the trip so much easier. It was nice to get out with all of my younglings.

When I got back as Devil boy was not feeling well they all sat nicely in their chairs while I got the dinner ready.

After dinner and after I had put away the washing I took DS1 through to his room to get him to clean up with me. It is about time that he learnt how to clean his room at the end of the day as there will come a time when he will have to do that himself (I am not going to do it for him until he leaves)

Mum and dad are away and been to a party today

Mum and dad are back down to England today. It has been really funky to see them again and I am looking forward to seeing theme again in the spring. They said that they will stay for a bit longer that time so that will be funky.

In the afternoon I took DS1 to a party that he had been invited to by one of the girls at the nursery that he goes to. It is awkward to get to though by public transport so I asked Devil boys dad to take us there. He was also able to bring us back as well so that made things so much easier.

It was really funky. I think that if I have a party for any of my younglings I will have it there. You just need to pay for it and they do the rest. I must admit that I have been put off organising a party, as I am not very good at getting them sorted out.

What they did was let them run about and play for an hour before taking them into a room to play some party games before getting something to eat (I sat in the main section for that so I was able to relax and talk to my friends for a bit) We both really enjoyed it. He unfortunately had an accident in his costume later on (the children were asked to wear their Halloween costumes to the party) I am really looking forward to him being able to take himself to the toilet again without having accidents.

Thankfully there have not been many fireworks at all set off but as they were being set off at the same time that DS1 went to bed he did not settle off well. It was not that he was scared (he did not want to be left alone in the bathroom when he was in the bath, even though he denied that they scared him) but he wanted to go out and see the fireworks. I knew that we would not be able to see them so he was not happy. Thankfully he settled off in the end. Next year I will be able to take all of the younglings to a firework display.

I went to mum and dads again for a meal today

Today has been a funky day. It started off well when I went to homestart for the first time since DS1 went back to nursery. We are doing a course at the moment and I asked to be a guinea pig today to get made up with nighttime make up. I thought it looked funky so I think I will get some new makeup and maybe wear it once a week.

After I got home I have to rush over to get DS1 from nursery. Sadly the teacher told me that he was messing about today and swearing. I have not been swearing and Devil boy has told me that he has been good as well. I have not heard DS1 swear for a while sop maybe he got it from someone from nursery this time. I told him that tomorrow he has to be good and not swear.

Mum came over shortly after I got home and took us over to where she is staying at the moment. When we got there we went out to the local park with the younglings. It was very sweet as the twins got to walk down the street for the first time. They really enjoyed it and they all enjoyed it at the park. It was nice getting out with them.

Dinner was not as stressful as it was a buffet dinner and the younglings ate more of it than before. I think that they gave them too much cake and biscuits for desert as DS1 started to get hyperactive toward the end. Thankfully it happened at the time that we needed to take him home and thankfully there was no problem getting him settled off to sleep. Thankfully this does not happen too often so it is not a problem.

It is strange though as I have got heartburn again. I got it the last time that I went to mum and dads for dinner. There must be something that I am eating that does not agree with me. While I am not in pain I am in a lot of discomfort.

Mum is taking me out food shopping tomorrow and that will be the last time I will see them before they go back as sadly they will not have the time to visit on the Saturday. Thankfully they said that when they next come up in the spring they will stay for longer.

Went over to mum and dads for dinner

It has been really funky having mum and dad over for a few days. It is such a shame that they cannot make it up more often. Though at least I appreciate the time that I spend with them.

I managed to have a chat to mum and I told her about wanting to move up north. I think she is worried about me moving too far away but I told her that the reason my I was thinking of moving to the isle of Lewis was that there was an airport there so it would be easier for them to visit. We still have much to do before that happens though.

We went over for dinner at the bungalow where they are staying. It was definitely entertaining. DS1 was not cooperating with his meal but thankfully DS2 sat still in his chair (there was only one highchair)

I was better once dinner was finished, as I have to confess that it was very stressful. It did not help that devil boy was not feeling well either. Bless him he has not been feeling well now for a few days.

We go across for dinner on Thursday but it will be a buffet style dinner so hopefully it will go more smoothly (hopefully)

Mum and dad are visiting

Mum and dad are in the area for a week from. It is very funky to see them as the last time I saw them was in August and then they were only able to visit twice. Before that the last time that I saw them was at Christmas.

They came over in the morning and we went out shopping. Bless dad as he gave me some money to get some clothes and as we were at Asda I was able to get a dress and a pair of trousers with that.

We got something to eat before going back to see the bungalow where they are staying. We only had one youngling with us (the eldest). It is really nice where they are staying and there was some toys for him to play with.

The eldest youngling goes back to nursery now that the holiday has finished. I must admit that I do appreciate the time that I get to get jobs done during the day. It is also good for him as well.

An interesting shopping trip and telling off a biker

A lot has happened in the last few days.

Mt eldest has seemed to ran out of trousers or the have gone missing so on top of needing a new coat for winter he also needed trousers. I went shopping to get them and after the usual place that I go to did not have any coats left I tried another shop. I managed to get a very funky coat for him and it has reflective strips in it as well, which will be very helpful when it gets dark.

I was able to also get him three pairs of trousers (one pair was in the sale) as well as a funky Dracula Halloween costume for him to wear to nursery.

It was funny on the way back though. I was waiting at the train station and I saw a train get in so I rushed out to get on it. I asked a person who got off it if it was the right train and they said yes. It turned out that it was not and I needed up somewhere that I have never been before. Thankfully Devil boys mum was able to collect me from the station. I thought I had to rush back to take SD dancing but she decided not to tell us that it was not on for the holidays.

I went to the doctors on Monday to see about my hair falling out and I have been referred to see a specialist and prescribed more iron tables and some mousse to rub in.

I was not happy the other day. I was walking around the park in the town where I stay when I hear a motorbike. I turned around to see an off road motorbike charging around and eve though he went off the path I was not happy about him being in the park, so I gave him a rude sign (which he saw) he turned around and I was surprise how calm I was when I said it but I made sure that I put as much venom into my glare as possible when I told him that he should not be on the footpath with his motorbike. He insincerely said sorry and while he still raced about on his bike he left shortly after. It really annoys me when they go about the park on their bikes and quads. Just because they own an off road vehicle does not mean that they can go off any road.

My funky Dark Lord

My funky Dark Lord

As I love Star Wars I obviously have introduced it to my younglings. I have also been reading the Star Wars books to my eldest (I will read them to the twins at the moment once I have read the Harry Potter books, The Hobbit and The Lord of the rings)

My eldest really enjoys me reading the books and he really has taken to the character of Lord Vader (He did like Boba Fett as well but he now much prefers Lord Vader) Strangely enough also as I am reading him the X-Wing books he loves the Tie fighters as well. I think it is funny how he prefers the dark side of the force.

One day recently he suddenly said that he wanted to dress as Lord Vader for Christmas. He asked a couple more times so I decided to get him a costume. After I looked around I found a good one on E-Bay. The smallest size that I found was 5-7 but I decided that I would manage to get it to fit somehow.

It arrived today and it actually fits better than I thought. The legs need turning up and it looks very baggy but it still looks very funky. He loves it and has been wearing it all day. I have been making sure that I take him to the toilet to stop any accidents (he has had a lot recently) I also have to take off the suit so that he can use the toilet. I have a feeling it will get a lot of wear long before he is in the actual age group.

I am really happy that I was able to get him a costume.

Had a scare

I have not had the chance to update before today (I have not been feeling well recently so have managed to get some early nights to help make me feel better during the day) I have not been feeling like myself and I have been having cramps in my abdomen (not all of the time thankfully as they have been quite uncomfortable)

Anyway when I collected Wolfie from nursery on the last day before they broke up for the holidays I was talking to my friend before we went to the park. I saw him by the play mushrooms in the playground and as it normally happens I took my attention away for a short while and the next time I checked he had vanished. I looked all around the playground but I could not see him I went to the park just by the school but still could not see him.

I decided to go and tell the teachers that he had gone AWOL. They looked out as well and went to the second floor to get a better look while I went outside. Thankfully one of the other mothers saw him in the playing fiend and went after him. I then told the teachers that I had got him back before leaving.

It gave me such a scare as anything could have happened. I have told him before that he has to stay at the mushrooms and the train until we go to the park. He was not happy with me though as I had warned him that if he ran away from me (like he did once before) that we would go home without going to the park. He cried nearly all of the way home. Hopefully he will have learned his lesson but I fear that the school holidays will help him forget that one…ah well if he does it again I will just be frogmarching him home without going to the park again.

The school holiday has been going well so far but bless him he has been asking to go to school. When he gets older that will defiantly change unless he is lucky that he continues to enjoy school, which would be funky.

When I was out at the shops I remembered to go into the health centre and check that we are still registered with the dentists. It is very funky that we have a NHS dentist in the area now. I am still registered so I also registered the twins and myself and all of the younglings will go for an appointment in December. LOL that will be fun trying to keep Wolfie entertained while I get checked.

I am just hoping that whatever bug we have all got now passes soon though as it would nice to feel back to normal again.

A funky day

The day started off slow and even though my stepdaughter stayed over I managed to get a little lie in and read of one of the books that I am reading.

I managed to get some jobs during the morning and once my stepdaughter had gone back home and Devil boy had gone out I kept myself busy in the afternoon by staring to declutter the shed. I thought that as the twins were napping Wolfie could run around in the garden. I managed to make a good start but Wolfie was funny. When we are in the flat he longs to go outside but today when he had free reign to go outside he spend quite a bit of it inside. And of course later on when I wanted him to stay inside he wanted to go back out. I will have to plan it so that he gets to spend more time in the garden.

In the afternoon I also took Wolfie to the park. He loves it there and as I had eaten a bit of chocolate last night and today I decided to join in. So that meant that even though I am 32 I was hanging off the climbing frame. It was great fun and something different. It was nice also doing something fun with Wolfie.

We had a bit of an accident though. I was getting Wolfies bath ready when I heard Elbereth crying. Devil boy told me that while she was climbing the sofa she fell and bit her lip. She bit some of the skin of in the inside of her mouth. Bless her she is so adventurous at the moment but has had a lot of accidents. Thankfully she recovered quickly and was fine but bless her. I spoke with mum tonight and she told me that I was just the same when I was the same age as Elbereth.

Mum had some good news. My brother was playing in a gold tournament when he collapsed on the gold course and had to be rushed to hospital. His heart stopped at one point and they even called a helicopter to the golf course. His doctor prescribed him medication and he badly reacted to it. Thankfully due to his being given steroids really helped as he said that he would have been in a really bad way if he had not have been. He is home now and is making a nice recovery.

October challenges

I have been setting myself challenges to do over the current calendar month.

These are my challenges for October.

Ø Work on decluttering the shed.

Ø Hand in form to housing association for hopefully getting a house.

Ø Declutter the flat and work out a system to keep on top of things.

Ø Now that I have nearly lost the weight that I want to put a little more effort into getting rid of it.

Ø Start sewing begs to sell.

Ø Work out what I want to do when I set up my home business.

Ø Plan out a healthier diet for us all and look for funky meals for us to eat.

Why, why, why

Is the question that Wolfie has been asking lots. He will ask something and once you answer it he will ask why and then again with the next answer and he will ask that again and again and again until all the answers are dried up. Though sometimes when he is satisfied he will say ‘oh wow’ which is cute.

It was very cute the other day when I was at the park before I took him to nursery he pointed at the moon and told me that he was going to fly there in a rocket. Though when I asked him if he was going to also fly to the moon in a tie fighter he also said yes. I have been reading a Star Wars book to him and he likes the tie fighters that are on the cover.

When I looked at the moon though it got me thinking though. I think the moon is really funky and it made me realise just how amazing it is how everything works. How amazing it is that on this planet there happens to be a protective bubble around the surface that allows life to happen. It made me realise just how precious life really is and we are all really lucky to have it.

Though I am very saddened by the news and what has been happening in Burma, those poor monks. I hope that it stops very soon and that the problems that they have at the moment can be resolved peacefully.

PLP and a scare

The last few days have been going well. I have managed to find the time to get yoga done most nights and I have been able to meditate before going to sleep. I still have got so much to do with the kitchen. It has become the dumping ground for things that we have not been able to keep in the living room due to the younglings getting hold of them so it is now very cluttered. I have been doing my best to get bits done every day and then if I manage to keep the clean bits clean I will be able to get that room sorted. Well that is the plan anyway but it is not going as well as I had hoped. We will get there though.

Zander had his PLP (personal learning plan) at nursery this week. It seems like a really good idea. Instead of having a yearly report to how they are doing I get to know what is happening several times a year. We also get involved as well with it and the younglings can see their PLP folder anytime they want. It looks really funky.

I had a scare with Zander today though. I decided to walk home part of the way with my friend and her daughters. It was very sweet when we started walking from school as one of my friends daughters held my hand as we walked. As we were walking Zander was running ahead and even when I called after him he was not listening to me and just carried on running. At least I could see him and my friend’s eldest daughter was walking ahead so I was not too worried. The scare that I got was when he decided to run out onto the main road. Even when I shouted after him he was not listening. Thankfully there were no cars on the road at that time. Sadly people go along that road far too fast for a built up road and it was in that same spot that a few days a go when a car crashed after overtaking another car. It happened when there were school children about in the morning and it was amazing that no one was hurt.

I have decided that the next time I walk home with my friend I will tell him that if he runs off again I will keep him close to me by means of a wrist strap before he gets the chance to run into the road again as next time he might not be so lucky as he was today.

The twins are funky though. I have noticed tonight that Elbereth is teething again. Maybe that is why she has been objecting when I have cleaned her teeth. Elbereth has developed a habit of sitting against something and then rocking back and forward bashing her head against it. Like when I put her in her cot she will sit against the side and bash her head into the side. This means that at her bed time all I could hear was a constant thump, thump, thump of her before she falls asleep. As a result the cot has been shook apart. I have not put Malach in her cot and her in Malachs travel cot. I need to get them a new cot bed each though as while they will not be in a cot for much longer they are not ready for a bed yet.

It has been a while

It has been a while since I last posted on this.

I have been so busy that I just not had the chance to do so. I have started doing Yoga at night and during the day now that Wolfie has started nursery I do not get much chance to then, especially as I am trying to declutter the flat and clean up as well as decluttering the shed.

The twins are doing really well and I cannot believe that they are 20 months old already. Time really has flown, they are no longer babies but are now toddlers. In the last few months their personalities have really developed. They are so cute. Elbereth is such a little lady and Malach is so funny (his giggle is just so cute) they both like rock music and will often dance when I put some music on. It is very cute but both Malach and Elbereth’s favourite song is a live version of bring your daughter to the slaughter. They both dance in their own way. Elbereth likes rocking back and forward where as Malach likes to sway from side to side and tapping his foot.

Wolfie is also getting on funkily. He is still mad and has so much energy it is scary but he is funky. He is doing really well at nursery and has settled in really well. He still is not fully toilet trained though. It feels like I have been doing this forever. He is mostly funky during the day but the problem is that while he is nappy-free during the day I am reluctant to take away his nighttime nappy as he mostly has a messy nappy in the morning. We will get there though. The only other thing that we have to work on is how he plays with toys. He is far too rough and has sadly broken most of his toys (including a funky kitchen set which I have got for him, each piece of the set is damaged in some way which will now meant hat when I have done with it I will not be able to take it to a charity shop)

Once I have managed to get the decluttering done and got on top of the housework I am planning on using the time that Wolfie is at nursery to start planning what I will do when I start working from home. I am luck that the twins take a daytime nap when Wolfie is at nursery so I get some free time during the day.

I am not really sure what I am going to do but I would love to make and sell collages. I have also been thinking recently of developing my writing skills so that I can write short stories. I think what I will have to do is write down all of the possible things that I could do and work from there.

I think that is it for now though I will do my best to keep this updated more often from now on.

Here is a funky picture of all of my younglings sat on the sofa reading (Malach was reading and the at last minute he looked at Wolfie) it was lovely when they did that and it has sadly not happened since but I am glad that I was able to get a picture of it.
