The end of the year is upon us already. The year has gone by as years normally do. Frighteningly fast.
In this year my first son celebrated his first birthday, I found out that not only I was pregnant but pregnant with twins and I started on of my plans to work from home (which I will pick up again once I have got through the chaotic newborn stage) My plans included sewing collages, painting pictures and making candles, soaps, bubble bath etc.
Recently I have realised, well more that the reality is really sinking in that soon I will be giving birth to twins. I still do fear that something will happen but it seems that the possibility is getting less and less and that I need to get prepared mentally for them being here. I’m getting scared now. Not only about how I will cope with the labour (it is not a nice thought knowing that you are going to be in a lot of pain at some point soon) I am also scared about how we will cope with two newborns and a toddler. I am worried about how Wolfie will react to the twins and how we are going to be able to make sure that he does not feel left out. I am hoping to spend as much time as possible.
I have also been worrying about how I will tell mum and dad who are coming to stay that I am not happy about them taking Wolfie away for a few days while they are in the area. I am not sure how that will help us. Wolfie sleeps well at night and I am not sure if he will settle as well with them as he is not really used to it. I am also not sure how it would really help us. I was told recently by a woman who works with the health visitor that it is better that a toddler is there from the beginning as it helps them to bond with the new babies. I just do not want to upset mum and dad as I am sure that they mean well but I do not feel comfortable about Wolfie being away from home as it has never happened before.
Anyway back to the day’s events. Wolfie slept through until 7.30, which meant that I was able to get a really good night’s sleep. Unfortunately it has not helped me feel better and the cold is really taking hold. My nose was running a lot in the morning but as I moved about it calmed down. I was worried about having a very red nose by the end of the day.
Devil boy and I went over to his grandmas house and I saw his mum, dad and aunt before they went back home for the New Year. I wanted to wish them Happy New Year.
I went strait to the train station so I could go shopping. I had some things that I needed to get (Carrots, potty and feeding set) I got most of the items on the list but unfortunately the feeding sets that I saw had sold out so I will have to pick one when I am in Kirkcaldy next Friday for my 36 week scan. By the time I had got back from shopping I was absolutely exhausted. Wolfie did not nap well while I was away but I managed to put him in his cot and lie down while I napped in the chair nearby. Thankfully he was happy to lie for a while I rested. I am hoping that while he did not sleep he did get some rest. He did seem a lot brighter when he got up. He did not settle off too well tonight but I am hoping that he will sleep well as I really need a good nights rest.
I managed to get a hot water bottle today, which is now in use on my lap. I am not feeling very bunged up now. I am feeling a chill over my skin, a little sick and my head is really stuffy. I am also feeling run down so once this has been finished I am going to curl up in bed with a fresh hot water bottle, a bottle of AME, Schloer and a funky dvd to watch.
Devil boy has gone up to his brothers for a few drinks for hogmanay but he will come back home for 12 so we can see in the New Year together. Depending on how he feels he will either stay or go back to his brothers. I know what I will be doing though. I will be going to sleep (hopefully)
Happy New Year :D

Going out in the snow and stepping up the preparations
Wolfie woke up at 4 am this morning but I was too tired to do anything so I brought him through with us. He slept well but unfortunately I was still too tired to get up at 7.30. I managed to get up at 8.30 and he ate most of his breakfast.
I did not get a lot done in the morning but I did manage to get Wolfie off for a nap. It was later that his usual time but I was pleased that I managed to get him to nap. While he napped I made some lentil soup for us. He ate that when he woke up and he also managed to eat a whole banana.
I got him ready to take Wolfie over to Devil boy’s grandmas when I got a phone call from Devil boy (he had gone out earlier) telling me that he was at his grandmas and that the path going to her house was to risky for us to walk along. The path is up a steep hill and there is a lot of snow and ice on it.
I was just about to take Wolfie out when Devil boy phoned me. I thought that while it would not be wise to go to Devil boys grandmas today it seemed unfair to not go out as he loves being outside. I decided that I would take him out for a walk near our home instead. He really loved being out in the snow as there was a good covering of snow on the floor so it made a funky crunching noise when he walked along. He was giggling at first and for a while at the crunching noise that he made. We had a really good walk and at the end he looked so sweet with his red nose and cheeks.
Wolfie managed to eat a good dinner and settled off to sleep well. We will see how well he sleeps tonight. Hopefully he will have a good sleep.
Now that Wolfie is in bed I am planning on working on the twins room and have a general tidy up in the living room and kitchen before I have a rest and have a quick read through the baby whisperer and contented baby websites to see what I can pick up on them about getting the twins into a routine.
If all goes well I am hoping to manage to get an early night. If I manage to get a good night’s sleep then I will hopefully manage to get up early with Wolfie and get him back on track for getting him back into his normal routine. I also need an early night because since this morning my nose has been running and I have gradually cone down with a cold during the day. I am feeling chilled and my head feels stuffy. I wish I could curl up with a hot water bottle when I go to bed but unfortunately I do don’t know where it is.
I have decided that as I am now in my later stages of my pregnancy I would take a photo of my bump every week. So today I am 35 weeks pregnant. This pregnancy really has flown by. I know that I was later in finding out but it is still mad to think that I only have 5 weeks until my due date. I am going to have to move up a gear so that not only is the room prepared for their arrival but also that I am also mentally prepared for getting them into a routine as soon as possible.

Lapse in the routine
Wolfie woke through the night. He firstly woke at 11. He was only whimpering and when I went through to him he was still lying on his front and was nearly asleep again. All I needed to do was move his blanket up a little and he settled off until 1.30. He was sat up this time but was really cold. Unfortunately his room can get very cold during the night. I put on an extra pair of pyjamas and cuddled him to warm him up before I read to him for a bit before I left him to settle off to sleep.
He slept until 6 when I brought him through with us. I next woke up at gone 8 which meant that getting him back into a routine has gone to pot for today. He did not manage to get a nap during the day but he did manage to eat well today (including eating all of his breakfast) and he settled off to sleep well.
I did not do too much today. I have not really had the energy or the motivation to get anything done. I have managed to get a nappy wash washed and I have put away the clothes that I washed yesterday. I have also checked the hospital bags and added anything that was needed.
I have got a busy day planned for tomorrow. I am planning to go over to Devil boys grandmas house tomorrow morning with Wolfie. I will get him to walk across. In the afternoon I am planning to go out shopping for some things that I need. Carrots are one of the items that I need. I have been craving them so much with this pregnancy. If I manage to get through a day without eating one then that is a shock. I got a 2kg pack delivered with the Tesco order but unfortunately instead of there being lots of small carrots there are a few but they are huge ;) I have managed to eat half of the pack already though.
I am going to get an early night tonight, relax and fill out competitions while watching a dvd.
Edited to add: I was preparing my bedtime cup of tea (Camomile with honey and vanilla) when I noticed my camera and decided that I would upload my 34 week bump photo and post it before I go to bed. There will be a new picture tomorrow.

Working on the twins room
Wolfie still woke up early this morning but I think he woke 20 minutes later than normal. Hopefully if that continues he will be back to normal very soon.
While he did not eat all of his breakfast but we had a really good walk out today. It looked wonderful with the fog and the snow on the floor. He did slip a couple of times but he did not hurt himself. On the way back he discovered that he could write in the snow with a stick and he loved scratching lines in the snow and knocking the snow off the tops of walls.
After our walk I also took him out to the shop. It had started snowing at this point. It was Wolfies first time of being out when it has been snowing. He seemed to really like it and he was upset when he had to go back in the house after we got back from the shop.
I managed to get him off for a nap without too much trouble and he woke at around his usual time. He has not eaten too badly today and he seems to be getting over his cold.
During the afternoon I decided that I would really work on the twins room. I have made really good progress. I have managed to clear the bed (also for Devil boys daughter to sleep tonight) the cot is also clear. I am going to wipe it clean before I put some bedding in it tomorrow. The room is really beginning to look good now and I am really hopeful that I will be able to start taking off the wallpaper tomorrow.
I have also managed to clean the kitchen nicely (Devil boy helped as well with this) and I have got the inflatable play pit out of Wolfies room ready to be repaired.
We bathed Wolfie at his usual time and I managed to read quite a bit to him (I am reading him The Hobbit) before I left him to settle off to sleep (he settled off perfectly)
I have decided that I am going to have a mostly restful night tonight. I have a little cleaning up to do tonight but I am going to get an early night to rest my back as it is really aching today and get a good sleep.

Sorting out Wolfies routine and the twins room
Wolfie woke up at 4am and while he settled well through with us I worried about him getting into bad habits that would make the challenging newborn days with the twins even more challenging. I then decided that this morning that I would get him up at his usual time so I made sure that I woke him up at 7.30 and I then got up at 8 to prepare his breakfast. He did not eat all of his breakfast but he ate over half of it.
I also decided that I would take him out for a walk to tire him out for his nap. I took him out for a walk at around 10 for a half an hour walk and when we got home I made him some toast for a snack.
I decided that I should try him in his cot first and then put him in his pram as that seemed to work well the other day. I managed to get him to take a nap and while it was not the longest nap I am hopeful that as he gets used to his old routine again it will lengthen.
Devil boy then told me how last night went at his brothers. He told me that he was at his girlfriends mums house when after he spilled a drink on the floor she started shouting at him. He then told her to go F herself and she cleared her stuff out of their flat the next day. She also made sure that she phoned his mum and grandma first to tell them that it was over because she was sick of his binge drinking. I doubt that I will see her though to hear her side of things. I am not really sure if she will visit when the twins are born. Only time will tell.
The afternoon went well and I managed to make some good progress with the twin’s room. Have cleared the double bed again, which will leave the cot as being the next main thing to clean. I am hoping to get that done tomorrow.
Wolfie managed to eat well during the afternoon and we were able to put him to bed at his usual time without him being overtired. Unfortunately something disturbed him before he could get into a deep sleep but thankfully he settled quickly (I can tell if he will settle quickly as he does not want a cuddle he just wants to be in the cot)
I have spoken to mum on the phone tonight and had a nice soak in the bath tonight and I am about to wok on the twin’s room for half an hour before going to bed (to hopefully get a good nights rest)

Another relaxing day
Wolfie unfortunately did wake in the night. He woke up at about 2.45.am. I went through and tried to settle him. It did not unfortunately work that time so I tried again. I then got back into bed and was so shattered that I fell asleep. When I woke up at 4.45 there was silence. I really hope that it did not take him long to settle.
He woke up again at 6 when I brought him through with us. He slept until 9 am and played with his toys letting us have a lit in until just before 10. I know I have said this times before but I really hope that his sleeping patter gets back to normal soon as I am getting scared of him being a bad sleeper when the twins are here. It would be ideal for him to be back to normal by then.
The day has gone well. I have not done a lot as I have decided that another day of rest is the order of the day. Tomorrow I will be busy working on the twin’s room and starting work on some collages.
Wolfie did not nap well at all in the afternoon. I think I left him too late for putting him for a nap and I should have given him some lunch before I tried. He was in good spirits though and he has eaten quite well.
I went over to visit Devil boy’s grandmas this afternoon for just over an hour. She had a nice day at her daughter’s house yesterday and enjoyed getting her dinner cooked for her. She really is lovely and I do like visiting her.
Devil boy has gone up to his brother’s house. Devil boy’s brother had a huge argument with his girlfriend yesterday and today she moved all of her stuff out of the flat that they shared. Devil boy said that he is rather upset about it so he has gone up to be with him.
I have just had a relaxing night. I have had a lovely soak in the bath and I have just listened to an album by The Bees that Devil boy bought me for a Christmas present. It is a really funky album. The bees have a really funky sound, which I think is distinctive and different. I would love to see them in concert at some point.
I am just about to get the bed really and fill out some of the magazine competitions and watch a Harry Potter or a Star Wars DVD.

A lovely relaxing Christmas day
Wolfie slept through the night but he woke at 5am. Thankfully he settled again and woke up at 8am. After having a little wander around he discovered the presents in the back room and started to open them. I brought them through for him to open. He seemed to be excited by this, I think that it was because he was actually allowed to rip lots of paper.
Wofie got some really funky presents. He got lots of Thomas the tank engine stuff but thankfully the Thomas and soccer star clothes are pyjamas. The one thing that he will not be getting though is a tub of flying saucer sweets (not appropriate for a 21 ½ month old toddler)
Both Devil boy and I got a good amount of funky presents as well. Devil boy got a really funky remote controlled car from my mum. Wolfie also really liked it and by watching Devil boy use it he had learned how to operate it by the afternoon. I got a lovely skirt form mum along with some really lovely presents (including a funky book from a girl I have been chatting though the internet with as well as some DVDs and cds).
I decided to try Wolfie again to get him to nap, as he looked really tired. It was not going well to begin with even though he was really tired. I decided to move him from the cot to putting him in the pram. This worked and I managed to get him to nap for an hour and a half. He was a lot happier for having a nap. I was just so happy to have managed to get him to take a nap during the day. It has been over a week since he last took a daytime nap. While he has not eaten much today I think that is due to him not being very well. Devil boy’s daughter is still not very well at all unfortunately.
Wolfie did not settle off to sleep very well tonight though unfortunately and it took several attempts before he settled off to sleep. I think he had got overtired.
While I was trying to settle him off to sleep I started preparing the romantic Christmas for Devil boys and I. Devil boy did a lot to help and once Wolfie had settled dinner was not far off being ready.
The dinner was lovely and we have decided that we are going to sit down for a meal at the table a lot more often as it has not unfortunately happened for a while. We drank a bottle of AME and after the meal we played some games of bite sized trivial pursuit Star wars edition (Devil boy bought it me for Christmas)
I am hoping that Wolfie will again sleep through the night so I can get another good nights rest.

A relaxing day (a nice change for me)
Wolfie woke during the night around 12 and he took about an hour and a half to settle back to sleep. He came through with us at just before 6 and slept until 8.30.
I have decided to have a relaxing day today after how busy it has been recently. I only had some cleaning and clearing up to do today. I did not get the best nights sleep today so I thought that taking it easy would be a good idea.
Devil boy went off to visit his grandma today and I tried to get Wolfie off for a daytime nap. I read to him and after several attempts I decided to read until he was asleep. He fell asleep and I thought I had cracked it but unfortunately he woke within five minutes of me leaving the room. I am not sure whether the teething or the cold or a combination of the both is throwing him off his napping but I hope it gets back to normal before the twins arrive.
I managed to clear some of the clutter that is in the twin’s room while I was trying to get Wolfie to nap.
The rest of the day went well until the point when Wolfie was climbing up Devil boy’s computer desk and he started shaking it. This meant that the cup of tea that I placed out of his reach (and not thinking) upon the top of the monitor. A little bit of tea went down the back of his monitor and killed it. Thankfully we had given a friend a couple of monitors that we did not need and we were able to get one of them back to use. It is not as big as his previous monitor (he’d had it for 6 years) but we will save up for a funky new monitor next year.
Wolfie settled off to sleep well tonight thankfully and I am hoping that he sleeps through the night undisturbed. I managed to get some work on the twin’s room, clean the living room and kitchen. I have decided that if he is still asleep by 12.30 I will be safe to go to bed. I have only 40 minutes left now.

I have still been very busy.....so kept out of trouble ;)
Today started off early as I had to get ready to go out of the house by 9am to take Wolfie to the doctors. I am not used to getting out of the house early and I did not get the best nights sleep last night.
We got up to the doctors on time and the doctor told me that the white spots on his feet were just spots. He has given me some cream to put on his foot. It is nice to know that Wolfie is all right. I also mentioned his cold and the doctor checked his chest and told me that it was good.
After the doctors I went up to visit Devil boys grandma to pass on her present. His mum and dad stayed a day later than planned so I was able to pass on his dads present to him as well. I stayed there until I needed to take Wolfie to the baby and toddler Christmas party.
This was a typical children’s Christmas party. There was loud music, unhealthy food and too much noise. I managed to cope though and I kept Wolfies plate free of sweets, crisps and other things (I took some fruit with me to feed to Wolfie as I knew that there would not be any there) I also knew that he would find a way of munching them anyway. He did this but unfortunately I could not stop him having too much. This meant that he was hyperactive on top of being overtired which resulted in him starting to be aggressive to the other children.
Thankfully this was at the end so I was able to take him home and try and get him to nap. This unfortunately did not work and after a while we had to give up trying to get him to nap.
I managed to get a lovely soak in the bath before Wolfie had his wind down time before going to bed. He settled of really well thankfully and I am hoping that he will sleep all through the night like he did last night.
I did a little work on the twin’s room before I remembered that I needed to wrap up Devil boys daughters present (Devil boy has made up a computer for her) that took a long time though and I am well and truly exhausted. I am hopeful that not only will I mange to get a good nights sleep but that Devil boy will get up in the morning so I can have a little lie in.

Finishing off Christmas preparations
Wolfie woke at 11pm last night and thankfully he settled off strait away. He then slept through till 6am when I brought him through with us. He then settled till 9am when we got up.
I went off out with Devil boys mum in the morning as there were some things that I needed to get. I have now got everything that I need and I do not need to go out to the shops again.
When I got back Devil boy went out as he needed to exchange the DVD that he had got for his dad as well as getting a present for his brother and grandma. He was back a few hours later having managing to get all that he needed as well.
Wolfie nearly settled off for a nap today but he did not manage it. I am hoping that he will get back into a napping routine soon as I miss not being able to get things done during the day.
Devil boy went to his friend’s house, which meant that I bathed Wolfie tonight. Unfortunately I think he got over tired tonight as he really struggled to get off to sleep. I managed to get the washing put on the radiators before I went to try again at settling him. In the end I read to him until he was dosing off. I said good night to him loudly so that he opened his eyes and knew that I was leaving the room. Hopefully he will sleep all the way through the night.
I browsed to Internet before I started work on wrapping the last of the presents and cleaning the kitchen.
The kitchen has become a nightmare recently. There has been boxes and general clutter all over the floor for a while now which has meant that I am always knocking something and not being able to get into the fridge properly. It was driving me mad. I have cleared the clutter tonight, moved the recyclables into the recycle bucket (with a bag of bottles etc ready to take to the facility tomorrow) the kitchen look so much better now and the floor is clear. There are still some things that need to be done and the cooker really needs a clean but that can wait until tomorrow.
Unfortunately I am now too tired to get any work done on the twin’s room (which is looking worse and worse by the day) I will see what happens tomorrow. I have to take Wolfie to the doctors and then to a Christmas party. I will hopefully be able to get something done in the afternoon.

I have managed to survive another busy day
Last night while I was clearing up the flat I noticed that Wolfie had woken up at 11.30. I needed to change his nappy and I gave him some Calpol. Thankfully after a while he settled off to sleep. I left it a while before I went to bed just to be sure that he had settled off.
He next woke up at 6.30am and when I brought him into bed with us he slept for a few hours longer. I felt like I had got a good nights rest even though it was broken. My back also got a good rest so it has not been aching so badly today.
My Christmas present arrived from my brother today. I have been so tempted to open one part of it though. I have not been bothered about opening the other presents but I was so tempted with this one. I was a good girl though and I managed to resist. I am going to have to hide it now to remove the temptation.
I went over to visit Devil boys mum this morning as she is in the area for a few days. I had a nice morning over there and Wolfie was really good. He has not been napping still but thankfully he has been good tempered even though he has been tired.
I was supposed to go to Edinburgh today to meet friends but unfortunately I had to cancel due to sorting out Christmas food. I tried to order online as usual but all of the delivery slots were taken up.
I have managed to also wrap most of the Christmas presents today and I got all of the cards that needed written out written so I am feeling like I am about on top of what need to be done now.
Wolfie went to bed well tonight and after chatting to some friends on the Internet I managed to get some work done on the twin’s room before getting ready for bed. (Mainly sorting out all of the clothes that have unfortunately been dumped in there recently)

A busy day
Wolfie woke up at 3.30am and while it is an improvement from the other night I am looking forward to his sleeping pattern getting back to normal. I would like to make the most of getting as many good night sleep as possible before the twins arrive. Thankfully when Wolfie was through with us he settled well and slept until 8am. He would have slept longer but we were all woken up by the postman delivering the Mothrecare order. Thankfully we were able to rest in bed for about half an hour after this. I am happy now that we have all of the essential items that we need for the twins.
I set off to the nearby town to get some shopping done. I managed to get everything that I wrote on the list but unfortunately I was shattered by the time I got back to the train station. It is at times like that than I miss not having Wolfies pram with me (I went shopping on my own) Unfortunately I only just thought this evening that I could have picked up a stocking filler present for Devil boy.
I was able to rest on the train journey and when I was about to get off the train I chatted to the woman in front of me after she was nearly barged out of the way by two rude men in a hurry to get off the train first. When I was setting off home she pulled up in her partners van and offered me a lift home. It was such a lovely thing for her and her partner to do that I could not thanks them enough. The lady even carried my bags to my front door for me.
I managed to rest before I went to my midwife appointment in the afternoon. The appointment went well and my blood pressure is good and while there is a bit of protein in my wee it is nothing to worry about. Another appointment was made but I was not really happy about when it will be. I will be 38 weeks when I get the next appointment. I am sure that when I was pregnant with Wolfie I started getting home visits at this point. I am not looking forward to the prospect of a long walk when I am 38 weeks pregnant with twins.
I have noticed that my backache does not seem to be easing. I am not sure if it is to do with the fact that I am not sleeping well or that I have been so busy that I have not had a chance to properly rest for it to recover. I have had a partially restful night partially potter about cleaning up. I am hopping that once this chaotic week is over I will be able to get on top of the housework.

A good day considering.....
Unfortunately Wolfie did not settle off for long and after waking several times I decided to bring him into bed with Devil boy and I at about 2am. My back was throbbing by this point and I was so exhausted. After I bought him through with us while he was contented he did not get to sleep until 3am.
He woke several times between 6.30 and 8.30 when he got up. I managed to get a lie in this morning thanks to Devil boy for getting up and making his breakfast. As I did not get a good sleep I am feeling shattered so I am getting an early night as possible so that I hopefully get as much rest as possible. Hopefully Wolfie will also have a good nights sleep.
I managed to get the Christmas presents sent off this morning. I am so glad that I have got them sorted out. All that needs to be done is that Devil boy’s relatives presents need to be wrapped and cards written. That can get done in the next couple of days though.
Unfortunately I noticed that Wolfie has come down with the same cold that Devil boys daughter has got as he sounds like he is losing his voice today and he only ate half of his breakfast. He also would not nap this morning.
I took him out to the baby group in the afternoon as they were having their Christmas group. I asked first if it was all right that he attends (because of him not being well) and all the people at the group said that it was fine. He was really good there and he ate a lot of food there (including lots of fruit) He was very sweet at the group. He went and joined the other toddlers with his food and shared it with the other toddlers. It made me very proud of him. He also ate a good dinner this evening so I am hoping that he is getting over the worst. He settled off to sleep well again last night but we will see whether he sleeps all through the night. I also noticed that his incisors have broken through the skin now so hopefully they will not bother him either tonight.
The order with nappi nippas and eco disposable nappies arrived today so the twin’s hospital bag is now ready.
I have decided that regarding the feelings of being overwhelmed I am going to stop trying to do too much at once. This will mean that the twin’s room will get done before the twins arrive but will not be ready by the end of the week. I am going to try and do a little bit when I can and try and not get too bothered if I cannot get things done when I wanted to.
This has meant that as I am feeling so drained tonight I am going to have a relaxing night and do nothing too much (except a quick clean of the kitchen) and if I am in bed for as close to 10pm as possible I am going to fill in some Take a break competitions for a short while before hopefully getting a good nights sleep ready for shopping and midwife appointment tomorrow.
Edited to add. I forgot to put in pictures of the collages that I finished last night.
Here is the collage that I have made for my dad:

Feeling overwhelmed
Today started off well and I started getting some jobs done. The challenges started when Wolfie would not settle off for a nap.
He was tired but he would not settle to sleep. I checked him for the third time when I noticed that there was blood on his lip. I checked his teeth and noticed that his gum was bleeding. I took him through to the living room and gave him some calpol. While he did not seem to be in any pain his gum was still bleeding. Thankfully the bleeding slopped quickly. We then noticed that not only was there a cut above his front two teeth but there was also a cut on his lip and by his ear. I have no idea how it happened as he was in his cot and there is nothing in there that he can cut himself on.
This meant that Wolfie did not get his nap and throughout the afternoon he got progressively crankier. This also meant that I did not get chance to do the things that I would have liked to have done while he was sleeping.
I began to feel totally overwhelmed and down during the afternoon. The kitchen is looking like a mad zone with far too much clutter about and I have not even been able to get any work done with the twin’s room (I had hoped that I would have got it ready for taking the paper off tomorrow) I had planned on taking pictures of the twin’s outfits to put in today but unfortunately I have not been able to do that so it will have to be delayed. I was aching a lot this afternoon and I found moving about uncomfortable. I just felt like I will never get the jobs that need doing done. I had already planned the night out t for finishing off the Christmas presents so I knew that I would not be able to get any cleaning and clearing up done then.
Wolfie settled off to sleep with out any problems and I started to work on dads collage. I thankfully managed to get it finished and managed to get all of the collages wrapped, the cards written out and parcelled up.
Unfortunately as I was just about to get ready for bed Wolfie woke up very tired and distressed. I have given him some calpol and put and extra pair of pyjamas on him as well as for a one off given him his dummy but he is not settling off again. I have found that for the last two or three nights he has been waking earlier than usual. I am thinking that it is to do with him teething (it looks like he is cutting four teeth at the same time, including his incisors) I am hoping that he will be able to settle off soon.
Edited to add: Wolfie was still very upset when I went through so after cuddling him lots I took the dummy off him as it was not helping at all and decided that I would read to him a little while. I read for about 5 – 10 minutes before he was ready to leave. He seemed much more settled when I tucked his blankets. When I left the room he also looked much more relaxed and thankfully he seems to have settled off now. So once it is definite that he has settled it will be off to bed for me as well.

Christmas shopping
I managed to get a good nights sleep last night and even though I woke a few times during the night I did not feel too tired when I got up.
I got ready and went for what I thought was an 11.05 train. It was really cold and unfortunately I forgot to put Wolfies gloves on. This made him cranky which in turn made me cranky. I was even crankier when I then realised that three must not be an 11.05 train on a Saturday. By the time I realised this it was to late to go back home, as I would have had to walk back to the train station as soon as I got in the house.
I sat and held Wolfies hands to keep him warm while we waited for the train. Fortunately Wolfie was happy while I was holding his hands.
Thankfully my shopping trip went a lot better and when we arrived I went and got some really cute going home outfits for the twins (I will post pictures tomorrow) along with hats, booties, and mittens. I also got a lot of funky clothes for Wolfie as he needs some new tops and trousers. He has enough clothes for now but this will save me going out when the twins are newborn.
I went to other shops and got Christmas cards, wrap, a present for someone. I decided to get a quilt for Devil boy and I, as the one we have been using has really had its day now. I managed to get a quilt with pillows for £13. I also got two more pillows and some for me to put the twins on when I feed them. They were also a bargain at £2.50 per pack of two pillows.
I decided at this point that I would go back home as I was not only feeling tired but one of the binos had moved onto a nerve which meant my hip hurt with every step. I did not manage to get everything that I was after but I will be able to make one more shopping trip without Wolfie to get these.
I am planning on having a very restful night, as I am totally exhausted. I am aching with ever move (I am hoping that a good soak in the bath will ease the aches) I have managed to put new bedding on the quilt.
Tonight I am going to try and clear up a little and if I can make some progress with cutting out the golfer for dads collage but I am not sure that I will have the energy to do anything tonight except have a bath and relax.

Making progress
Today I have managed to get quite a bit done to the twin’s room today. I will not be able to get the paper taken off this weekend but I am hoping that I will be able to make a start on Monday. I need to work out where I can put my records now. They unfortunately are rather bulky and take up a lot of room. There is not much space available in the living room and I would like to keep them out of Wolfies reach. I will see what I can get sorted out over the weekend.
My package did not arrive today so I could have gone shopping today. I would not have been able to have got up early though as Wolfie woke up at 3.30 and I was so tired I just bought him though with us. Unfortunately he did not settle that well and woke lots during the night. We got up later than usual but I did not feel like I had a good nights rest.
I have spent most of the night relaxing. My friend phoned up tonight for a chat. It was lovely talking to her. We do not get much chance to chat that much now, as we are both so busy (her daughter is nearly 4 months older than Wolfie)
After she phoned though I could not be bothered to continue with the collage and I just browsed the Internet. I did not even manage to get the presents that Devil boy got when hew went shopping today wrapped up. I will work on them tomorrow. As long as dad’s collage has been finished and wrapped up ready to post on Monday then that will be fine.

Ordering what I need
I went out and checked my bank balance to make sure that I had my maternity grant paid in. It had been paid into my account so this means that I was able to place the order for the terry nappy, the plastic pants and sterilising tablets from Mothercare. I also placed an order with smilechild.com for some eco disposables (to use while the twins and I are in hospital) with some nappi nippas.
We are on the third day of getting Wolfie to nap in his cot instead of in his pram and today was a success. He went off to sleep and had a good nap without screaming. Hopefully this is not just a one off and he will be just as good tomorrow.
I was planning to leave for the nearby town to get the twins some outfits, a big bin for the nappies, art and crafts things, Christmas cards and wrap along with other things that I need. I got an E-Mail though this evening though form Smilechild telling me that my order has been despatched already on a 24 hour delivery. While I am really happy that the order will get delivered so quickly, I am also hoping that I will be able get the things that I need as I do not really fancy the prospect of shopping on the last Saturday before Christmas.
I have not managed to get anything done to the twin’s room today as I have decided to have a lazy day in that regard. I have cleaned the kitchen and cleared the sides (they were getting far too cluttered)
Devil boy had a mad afternoon with Wolfie. He has run about with him like a loon. He wrapped Wolfie up in a duvet and dragged him from room to room. He loves this and you can hear him giggling from the duvet. I also had my mad half an hour with him but I cannot run about with him at the moment so I had to do something different.
I have just been relaxing tonight and I have made a good start on dads Christmas collage. All I am planning to do for the rest of the night is finish the background and cut out the golfer.
Here is the collage that I have made for my mum:

Out and about
I managed to get up early and go to a baby and toddler group this morning. I have not been since I went to visit my mum and dad at the end of October till mid November. The group is on a Monday and Wednesday morning. I have decided to stop going to the Monday group, as I do not have the energy to go to two groups on the same day (it is not too far to walk but it is up and down a hill which I can not manage at the moment)
I intended on keep going to the Wednesday group but recently I have either forgotten or had not had the energy to go. This morning I managed and it went quite well. There were only two others there but I never know what to say to the others so usually I just sit and watch Wolfie running about. The main reason that I go to the group is that it is good to get Wolfie out of the house, get different toys to play with and see other children. I do find sitting and chatting while the children running about a bit boring and I wish there was more interaction between the mothers and the children. I would love to sit around doing art and crafty stuff with them (which would mean you could still chat while doing this) I do not think that this would happen as I think that all most of the women who go there would just like to sit around and chat while their children play.
When I got home my new pram arrived. I looks wonderful and I put it together (all I had to do was put in the foot covers and put the wheels on. The pram almost fits though the doors within our flat. It is only the wheels that make it too wide. I knew that it would be too wide though as I checked the measurements when I ordered it but I thought the pram looked too funky not to order. I did not like the prams that would fit. It is a shame though that if only the wheels were flush with the main part of the pram it would fit though all of our doors. I do not know why manufacturers make prams that are too wide to fit through doors.
I finished mums collage off tonight. I was hoping to get eyes on the Scotties but I could not find anything appropriate so they will have to stay eyeless. They still look good. I am going to take a picture of it and put it in tomorrow’s journal, as I do not have the time tonight.
My Tescos order was delivered later than usual (there were no other delivery slots available) so the night has gone quicker that usual and I am not feeing very tired. I was pleased when my order arrived because not only did I get more carrots but I also got garlic bread that I had not ordered and was not on the list of ordered goods. I phoned up the help line to tell them about it so they could charge me and they told me that I could have them for free as it was their mistake.

Getting the things that I need
I managed to get another lie in today and I got a letter through telling me that my maternity grant will be paid to me in a couple of days.
This will mean that not only will I be able to pay a good chunk off my credit card bill but I will also be able to get all of the things that I need for the Bambini. The most important things is that I get are the pram (ordered yesterday), nappies (with plastic pants), nappi nippa’s and some nappies to go in the hospital bag. I am so happy to be able to get things sorted now. It actually feels like I am preparing for when the twins arriving now. Before I felt unprepared and a bit in limbo but now I feel like we are getting somewhere.
Today I went around to visit a friend who is going to look after Wolfie while I am in labour. She has a daughter (Daisy) and I have been calling around to her house so that Wolfie and Daisy can get to know each other and be comfortable around each other. It will also mean that Wolfie is happy at her house and feels safe around my new friend. I met her through the baby group that I go to on Monday afternoons.
I was telling her about what I was planning to order for the twins when she gave me her old steriliser with some unused bottles and some sterilising liquid. That was so nice of her. I am about to go and clean it out now but it looks in really good condition. This will mean that I just need to get some tablets for it now.
Wolfie has been very unsettled getting of for a nap during the day so Devil boy and I have decided that we are to put him in his cot for a nap instead. He settled off after a while but I know that in a few days he will get used to it. I am hoping that this will help us so much as well when the twins arrive.
While he napped I managed to get a lot of work done in the twins room. It was mainly folding up clothes and chucking out rubbish but the room is really beginning to look better now. I am hoping to be able to start taking off the wallpaper this weekend.
He was still very tired by this evening and he went to bed earlier than usual and he did not want me to read to him that much as he just wanted to go to sleep. This meant though that I actually managed to get on an online computer game for a bit while I cut out bits for my mums Christmas collage.
I have nearly finished it now and I will start work on dads collage tomorrow.

Feeling like I am back to normal now (thankfully)
I managed to get an earlier night last night but unfortunately during the night one for the flats above us started playing music really loudly at 3 am (I could not work out whether it was above us or our neighbours) but it meant that between 3 and 4 I had very broken sleep.
Thankfully when Wolfie woke in the morning and I put him into bed with us he actually slept until 9, which meant that I could get a good, lie in. Devil boy got up and made the breakfast so I could relax for longer. It took me longer to wake this morning due to the extra broken sleep that I had.
I managed to get Wolfie s nappies washed and find a new home for our books that were in the twin’s room.
In the afternoon as I am not feeling so tired now I was able to get Wolfie out to the baby group The group went really well and it is nice to be able to get out and about again without feeing so drained afterward.
On the way back home I decided to call in and see Kevin’s mum and dad before they go back home tomorrow. Devil boys brothers girlfriend was around there again but thankfully it went much better than it did yesterday and she did not annoy me at all. I laughed to myself when she made a comment to Devil boy about her daughter saying ‘what’s that’ since she was 8 months old. She has been talking at an earlier stage than Wolfie but not that early though.
After getting up so late and the group this afternoon Wolfie had not had a nap all day and while he was slightly more cranky than usual he thankfully went off to sleep fine tonight.
I have ordered a new buggy for the twins tonight as I noticed a good bargain available on the Internet.
This is the pram that I have ordered:

When I was at the group this afternoon I realised that today is the 12th so I have set myself a deadline of getting mum and dads Christmas collages finished by this Friday so that I can get them sent off in time. The only things that need to be added to mums collage are two Scottie dogs. I am hoping to get cut out tonight.

A day of rest and annoyances
This morning started off chaotically with Devil boy’s daughter running about after Wolfie and the both of them screaming like mad children.
Wolfie has not been napping very well recently due to his incisors coming through so it took a while for him to settle off. I managed to get a little done and soup made while he was napping. I am hoping that all of his teeth will have come through by the time the twins arrive. Then the main challenge will just be making sure that the twins do not disturb him during the night.
After he woke in the afternoon and he had been fed and changed I walked over to Devil boys grandma’s house as Devil boys mum and dad are in the area for a few days. When I got there, there was already a houseful. Devil boy’s daughter was there with her mum, his aunt but unfortunately so was his brother’s girlfriend.
She drives me mad and I know she feels the same about me (well I know that she dislikes me as much as I do her)
I suppose we never got of to a good start. Both she and Devil boys brother lived with us for a while (she moved in before me by about a few weeks to a month) I was annoyed that when I first moved in she barely acknowledged my existence. I was not expecting a fanfare but a hello and an introduction would have been nice and maybe a how was you journey for a bonus.
Sometimes we would be able to get on and she but I never felt welcome to go and chat to her as she always kept her door closed. I was so happy when she eventually moved out.
The main things that annoy me about her now is that she is always over at Devil boys grandmas house when his mum and dad are in the area so every time I go over I have to see her face. She also seems to spend all day there every day so I can rarely visit when she is not there. I never feel like I can talk when she is around, as she always seems to but in with her unwanted opinions (my other annoyance is that it feels like she is interfering, though is no doubt due to the fact that I find her annoying) She sucks up to Devil boys mum and dad so badly it makes me feel like she is trying to score brownie points off me (and off Wolfie against her daughter)
Thankfully I managed to stay longer than her tonight (she only left because her daughter was really ready to go home) so I actually managed to get 20 minutes without her being there.
When I got home it was nearly Wolfies bed time so we got him a quick dinner and got him ready for his bath. Things were slightly delayed however when Wolfie decided that he would poo in the bath, which had to be cleaned up before he could be bathed.
He was so tired that he went to sleep really quickly and since then I have just relaxed had a bath and started to sew the collage for mums Christmas present and hoping for an earlish night. I have decided to leave the twins room and try and get a good nights sleep as I am feeling tired.

Getting organised again
I think the iron tablets are taking effect already because even after a broken nights sleep I feel so much better today. I have also been eating lots of broccoli so hopefully that has helped as well.
Devil boy took Wolfie over to his grandma’s house when he went to collect his daughter so I had several hours to myself. I decided that as I was feeling better than yesterday I would clear the bed in the back room so that Devil boys daughter has somewhere to sleep tonight.
I managed to clear the bed in the back room and make it ready for tonight and clear the floor as well as clean the living room as well as the kitchen. Even though I have been busy today I do not feel bad for it.
I am planning to work a little on the twin’s room everyday so that I do not overdo it and wear myself out. It does not now seem so daunting what I need to do to the twin’s room. Once I have found a new home for all of our books and things I will just need to take the wallpaper off, paint it and make collages for the wall. I have a cot with bedding ready for it and a baby gym that needs some repair work for it (it has a puncture) I am really looking forward to seeing it complete.
I am also planning to decorate Wolfies bedroom. I have not decorated it for him and have been meaning to work on it since it became his room. The only thing that needs to be done though it that I need to repair his pool (his play pit) and make some collages for the walls. I am going to make the collages to a fantasy theme with a castle, dragons etc on the wall.
I have washed Wolfies old clothes and today they were dry so all I needed to do was take them off the radiator, fold them up and put them away ready for when the twins arrive. It was lovely looking at all of the little clothes; it really does not seem that long since Wolfie was able to fit in them. It is hard to imagine at the moment that in less than two months time there will be two babies that might even be too small for Wolfies smallest clothes.
It is going to be very strange caring for a newborn again after being with Wolfie. When he was a newborn I had never done looked after a baby before so I had a lot to learn but even though I am now well practiced with Wolfie it will still be new as I will need to learn how to care for two newborns at once when I am used to looking after someone who is not as helpless as a newborn anymore. I also must remember to be gentle with the twins when changing nappies (and using the newborn fold) as well as of remembering to support their neck. I am sure that when they are here I will do it all like it is second nature to me. It will also be a challenge changing for the needs of a newborn to the needs of a toddler.
But for now I am just making the most of enjoying my pregnancy and spending time with Wolfie.

32 week scan
I managed to get a good nights rest and even though I still felt like I needed more sleep I managed to get up and out to catch the train.
It was lovely seeing the twins again and they looked lovely. When I first went in there was a trainee sonographer who scanned me for a bit before the woman who scanned me last time took over. I got a lovely view of Bambina at one point and I got a lovely view of her face, which looked like it was developing really nicely.
Both the twins are developing nicely and both of their heartbeats are good as well (she checked while scanning) though at one point when Bambina was getting her heartbeat checked she kicked the equipment, which made one of hr heartbeat readings jump a little. It was very sweet.
After the scan I went to the follow up midwife appointment that I am getting as standard as I am having twins. They checked my blood pressure and wee which were both fine. When the midwife was looking through my notes the midwife noticed that my iron level was low and that I need to take some iron tablets. I was a little miffed that I was not contacted about this earlier (the midwife asked me at one point whether I had been phoned about it)
I saw the registrar at one point. He asked me some questions about how I was feeling, if I had any swelling etc. He also reassured me about the swelling and blood pressure. He told me this as he thought it was my first pregnancy but it was nice that he was telling me even if I was not worried about them (the midwife had already told me that my blood pressure was alright) On the train back home I was feeling tired but I decided that I would collect my prescription and make an appointment to see the community midwife (the midwife thought that the 4 week gap between scans was too long to go without being seen)
By the time I had collected the prescription, got a little shopping and made the appointment I was shattered and aching with quite a long walk home (including walking up a hill) by the time I got home I was tired, aching very much and dizzy.
I still had to make lunch as I was hungry and Wolfie was getting really grumpy. He has not been napping well during the day due to him teething. After lunch I managed to get him off for a nap so I able to properly relax and get a ten-minute nap.
I managed to get some good rest during the day and while I was reading to Wolfie Devil boy ran a bath for me and washed the dishes.
I am now going to spend the night sewing and relaxing and then making sure that I get a very early night. I am going to try and get into bed at 10pm (I am not doing too badly so far as I do not have that much left to do now and it is 9.30)

Feeling better now
After another relaxing day and having a lovely soak in the bath along with washing my hair I am feeling so much better now. I am getting a little heartburn but it is very light and slight swelling of the ankles (I will just make sure that I put my feet up more often)
I went to home start with Wolfie in the afternoon. I managed to fill a lot of competitions from the magazine Take a break (I keep my fingers crossed that I will one day win something) and Wolfie had a good time as well. When I first started going to homestart he really did not like it. I think it was strange for him to be parted from me as due to me not having family and Devil boy not having that many close family in the area that can help Wolfie has not been apart from us very much. When we first went he would scream when I left him in the crèche. After a while though he started to enjoy himself and recently he has been running to get in. This week he ran over to the art table pulled up a chair and sat down. He looked so sweet and I have decided that I need to get some, paper, crepe paper, glitter etc so that we can have some arty fun at hoe as well.
When I got back the plumbers were around having a look at the leak in Wolfies room. For the last two years we have had ongoing problems with the heating. It started with a leak in the radiator in Wolfies room, which caused problems with the heating. The landlord did not get the plumber in quickly which has caused a lot of expensive problems for him. Thankfully he is very efficient now at sorting out any heating problems. We needed to get a new heater this year and recently the leak in Wolfies room returned. It was worse than ever and today new valves and piping had to be fitted on the radiator. I was hoping that there would be no more troubles with the heating.
Unfortunately though I have noticed a very slight leak coming from the heater itself (brand new this year) but thankfully as it is covered by the warranty the landlord will not get another bill. The heating is working well though thankfully and hopefully three will be no more leaks in Wolfies room.
I have managed to clean the kitchen up well tonight and while it is not perfect it is so much better than yesterday.
I am on schedule for an early night. I really need it as tomorrow I am going for my 32-week scan and midwife appointment. I am really looking forward to seeing the twins again and finding out how they are getting on. I have had lots of movement form them today which is really lovely.

Still feeling drained
The early night that I had planned turned into 1am and after waking several times, including bringing Wolfie through at 6am (he slept until 8.30) while I had a reasonable sleep it was not good enough to make me feel better after overdoing things yesterday.
I am still aching a lot and I am very tired. I am on better track so far to get an early night tonight but I have not managed to get any work done to the twins room, Wolfies room or the kitchen (which is total chaos at the moment)
On the plus side however though I managed to finish my brothers Christmas collage and I have filled in most of the competitions ready to send off tonight so I have managed to get something done.
I ordered a food shop online, which arrived today and means that I have lots of carrots in the house as well as other funky food. I have been craving carrots with this pregnancy and I cannot get enough of them. I eat about 2 – 3kg of carrots a week and I am sure that if I carry on like this the twins will be born orange.
I have recently been drinking a lot of fruit and herbal teas as I am cutting down on the amount of tea with caffeine in that I drink. I ordered several types of tea today and I have tried camomile, vanilla and honey tea (which was lovely) and blackcurrant and nettle tea (this was nice but I thought that the blackcurrant flavour was a little strong)
I am going to get organised tomorrow (depending on how well the nights rest goes) and I am going to plan out the day with what needs to get done. I think that if I manage to get the kitchen clean and make a start on the twin’s room (as well as put the nappies in to the wash) I will be happy. Anything else is a bonus.
I am currently in the process of rushing about doing as much cleaning up before I go to bed. I may not be getting the ultimate early night but as long as I am in bed by 12 I will have done better than last night.

Overdoing things
I have managed to overdo things today so I am now aching, exhausted and waddling about like a geriatric hippo (with the sound effects of moaning and groaning nearly every time I move)
It started off well. I kept myself busy this morning updating Wolfies webpage with new photos and sewing more to my brother’s gargoyle collage.
In the afternoon I went up to the bank and on the way I called into the local charity shop. I saw a toy car that would be perfect for Wolfies Christmas present so I got it for him (I could not resist the bargain of a funky £2 car) I left it at the shop and collected it after finishing what I needed to do.
I decided that, as it was small and light that I would put my arm though it and carry it home. I got part way to Devil boys grandmas house when I realised that this was not working. I managed to slot the car on top of the pram, which made it so much easier to get about. Though the damage had already been done.
After the walk up the huge hill to get to Devil boys grandmas house I was shattered. I rested for a while before heading back home which was a challenge.
I really struggled running about after Wolfie when I got home and thankfully he wa an angel while I prepared dinner he managed to get at all the things that he should not after that. I was trying to rest as much as possible but as soon as I sat down I had to get up again and again and again. It was non-stop until Wolfie went to bed.
I have been aching every since and I have made sure that I have rested as much as possible this evening. I have cleaned up tonight but I have made sure that it was nothing too much. I will not be doing that again in a hurry.
I am hoping that I will manage to get a good nights rest. I should be feeling back to normal in the morning.

Getting organised
I think that now the due date seems so close I have decided that I really need to get a move on with getting prepared for when the twins arrive.
Today I have almost finished sorting out the living room so that it will be easy to maintain in the chaotic newborn days. I have made a good start on the twin’s room. I have a big bag of Wolfies old clothes that need to be washed but I have sorted out some space for them to go into. Though I am still at the stage where there seems to be so much stuff to do I do not know what to do next.
I am looking forward to decorating the room. I am also going to work on Wolfies room as well as I never managed to get it done in the first place. In the twin’s room planning on stripping the wallpaper off and painting (I am not sure what colour yet but not too bright) I am going to make some collages for the walls and I have a hammock to hang on the wall for any toys and I have a baby gym for the floor.
In Wolfies room I do not have too much to do. I need to repair his inflatable pool (his playpit) make some collages for the wall and put the hammock for his toys up along with a height chart that I will put up tomorrow.
Thankfully Wolfie had a really good nap during the day (nearly 3 hours) so that it meant that I managed to get lots done.
I noticed today that I am waddling much more with this pregnancy than I did when I was pregnant with Wolfie. I am also finding it a struggle to bend down now and pick things up as well as looking for things. I still feel good but I am now noticing some of the discomforts of having a big bump (not being able to move about so much, get through gaps and the underneath of my bra curling up at the front and nipping my skin)
I am blessed that I am only getting niggles and discomforts (even though I might now feel like that if I ever went to the beach Greenpeace would want to come and rescue me ;) )

9 weeks and counting
Hei
Here I am at 31 weeks and 2 days pregnant with twins. I also have a 21 month old son who will be nearly two when the twins are born.
I have decided to keep a journal of the last weeks of my pregnancy and how I manage with twins a toddler.
I am of course very nervous yet strangely confident about how I will manage. I feel more prepared this time for labour and I have now had experience of dealing with a baby (and all of the challenges that go with it)
I have been truly blessed with this pregnancy so far. I have the occasional niggle but nothing too bad and I feel so fortunate that at over 31 weeks I still feel good and am able to do a lot of things as well as being able to get out and about.
I think that is it for now. I know a little brief but this it just the introduction.
Have fun
