I went to homestart today but as I now have to get the train there I had to get up earlier to make sure that I got them ready and out in time. I need to make sure that I get a good sleep tonight as I ma really tired. Thankfully Devil Boy will want to go on the computer so I will not be distracted by Knights of the old republic.
When I went to collect the twins from the crèche today it was so sweet seeing my daughter paint. She really seemed to enjoy it and there were lots of colourful lines in the paper.
It was so sweet though when I got in from Homestart I got my son out of the pram and I was about to get my daughter when I noticed that she had fell asleep. She looked just so sweet there, so sweet that I took some pictures of her. I felt very sad that I had to wake her up but she needed her lunch.
I had to order a card reader as when I tried to get the pictures off my camera I could not do it, though by trying to get the pictures off I have discovered more about the camera. I think I will have to take some pictures to see what happens with the different settings.
I have changed the twins sleeping routine. Instead of putting them on the double bed in their room to get their bottles and being read to I have started putting them in their cots for their bottles while I read to them. It has worked out really well. It is still a little strange to them as I only started it last night but it has gone so much better than it used to.
My eldest at the moment is taking a really long time to settle off to sleep. I think it might be due to the light nights but I have to read a lot to him before he will go to sleep. Thankfully I am really enjoying reading the X-Wing books to him (as I know that he also enjoys them) we are now on book 8 of 9. It really does not seem to have taken that long to have read all of them books to him.

For the love of trains
Devil boy has introduced trains to the younglings and they have really taken to them) my daughter is not as keen as the boy but she does like them.
They all love Thomas the tank engine and will happily sit and watch them in the evening during the run up to bed time.
My eldest is still having accidents but he is at least making some progress and he will go to the toilet when told to and thankfully there has been no more stinky accidents. He just has also been distracted by playing the train driving game on the computer and he will not want to miss anything by going to the toilet. Once again I have had to wash my computer chair due to an accident. We will get there; the force will be with us.

My eldest has lapsed again with his toilet training
After doing so well my eldest has lapsed again with his toilet training. He has even had stinky accidents which are not nice to clean up. Sometimes I think he is getting back on track only for him to have an accident. Like today, he was dry for nursery but had a stinky accident later. I hope he passes though this stage soon. I really am beginning to think that the twins will be toilet trained before he will be.
All three of the younglings have taken to Thomas the tank engine. They have got some rail tracks and roadways that they love playing with and they have some of the take along Thomas toys that they love as well. We have managed to get some of the episodes for them to watch. I must admit that I have been enjoying watching them as well.
It was funny the other day when I caught the mouse in the kitchen. I decided to take along my eldest with me when I went to release it. When we got there I opened the box and the mouse jumped out. I thought that the mouse had vanished really quickly. Next moment my eldest is hoping about screaming ‘get it out mummy’ that was when I saw the mouse popping its head out of his sleeve. I had to take him jumper off so that the mouse could be freed. It fell to the floor and scurried away. My eldest was nipped a few times but thankfully no blood was drawn. He was also thankfully fine as soon as the mouse got out.
I have been taking pictures to take part in a fun online photographic competition. This month I managed to get some pictures of my eldest. He did really well and did as I asked him. He posed very well bless him.

Happy Birthday to my eldest
My eldest is four today. Wow it has gone so quickly. Last night I chose Carry on Matron because of the fact that four years ago I would have been in labour with him.
I was thinking about it today when I went to the doctors. So much has changed since he was born, thankfully in a good way. I feel be4tter about myself than I have done for many years and I am in fact proud of all of the positive changes that I have made. I still have to work on my temper and anger issues but that will be resolved as well.
My eldest has had a nice day so far. He has enjoyed the presents that he has got so far. He has had some really funky clothes, and some DVD’s. He really liked the toys that Devil boy and I got for him. We got him a vintage millennium Falcon, some vintage Star Wars figurines, a Harry Potter wand and a Knight bus.
He is at nursery now and they are going to let him ice a cake. I think that will be funky. I am also going to bake some fairy cakes for him.

Calming my eldest
My eldest has been acting strange recently. He has been very quick to excite and he has been really cheeky. He often calls Devil boy and I either stupid or silly. Both Devil Boy and I have had enough so I am going to look through some books and see what we can do about that.
On a positive note his sleeping is so much better now. He did come through earlier last night but he did really well, as the weather was windy. Mostly they are good nights that mean it makes it much easier to deal with the challenging nights.
The twins are also getting on really funkily. Their personalities are really developing and it is just so funky to watch them. They play so nicely together as well. It is funny to see them together. I really have been blessed with all of my younglings.

Sickness in the household
There is a bug going around the house so it is very likely that I too wll be ill soon. I do not feel that good at the moment. My youngest son was sick a few nights ago. My eldest son was sick last night and Devil Boy has been sick today.
Thankfully it seems that it is a bug that passes quickly through the system quickly but it will not be nice as it passes through.
I have to make sure that everything is ready quickly tonight so I do not have to worry about it when I am sick. At the moment I am just thinking that the sooner it happens the sooner I can get better.

My eldest was upset in the evening
The night last night went well. The younglings slept well and even though I was chocked up last night by the morning I felt a lot better and I was able to breathe through my nose.
The day went well and the younglings were all funky as well. There were a few moments but generally everything went well. My daughter has taken to a bear that I got recently. She is so nice to it. It is so sweet to see her. She holds it gently and even put her favourite blanket across it to keep it warm. It really is so cute.
The bath time went well and the twins went off to sleep with no major problems. My daughter needed to be resettled but that was it.
The challenges came when I came to put my eldest to sleep. He did not want to go to bed. He screamed and screamed before throwing himself to the floor. I really had to work hard to keep calm. I got him into his room and every stage was a battle. I eventually got him into bed and he was still screaming. I eventually got him to calm down by staying quiet and letting him scream until he noticed that I was not going to do anything until he stopped.
I read to him and that went really well but he would not settle when I was time to leave. He kept saying one more page but by then I’d had enough. It took him ages to settle off and the start of our doing the yoga was interrupted. Thankfully it did not take too long after it had started before he had gone.
I was really happy with how I handled the situation. I managed to stay calm and I did not snap at him at all. It was really hard and I could feel the temptation to give into the temper arising but I forced a serene feeling to go through me, and it worked. I just need to remember this for the next time. It will then become easier the more times that I do it.

The younglings have tested my patience today
And unfortunately I did have a breaking point and my eldest was on the receiving end. I immediately apologised to hi and give him lots of cuddles and kisses until he was all right. I felt really bad but I do not think that it helped that I am not feeling well at the moment.
Thankfully Devil boy has helped out a lot tonight and that really was just what I needed.
My eldest pleasantly surprised me last night. He woke in the night as he has been doing a lot recently. After several times of putting him back to bed I heard him stirring I thought he was going to come th4rough crying. I heard him stop close his door and get back into bed. He then stayed there until gone 6 in the morning. I was really pleased with him.
The twins are being cute at the moment. They both have their own way of saying words. My daughter will say Bob the bubble where as my son will say Bob the bear. Another one is my daughter will point at things and say Ba-bau but my son will say Babyo. It is so cute to see.

I took my eldest to the dentist today
I took my eldest to the dentist today to get his teeth checked. She said that they are all good but that I have to be careful and make sure that I get to his back teeth or they could be in danger of getting decay in them. I was pleased that his teeth were all funky though.
It has been sweet at bedtime, as my eldest has started joining the twins in the bath. They all really enjoy it and apart from the times when he gets a bit enthusiastic and accidentally upsets the twins.
My daughter has not been sleeping too well. She has been waking in the night and getting up earlier. One morning when I had to get up early I brought her through. I was shattered but she made up for it just wanting to kiss me all of the time. It was very sweet. Also as my eldest was there as well he was kissing me strait after my daughter.

Another challenging night
Unfortunately the wind was strong so my eldest was through with us again. Thankfully he was asleep by the time that I got to bed so I was able to read in peace.
Devil boy ordered a present for my eldest. He got him a Millenium Falcon from E-Bay. It is really funky. As it was not too expensive it need some restoration work but we will thankfully be able to get parts for it from the internet and it will make a good play toy for him. He really liked it though, Devil boy was worried that as he likes Harry Potter that he had gone off Star Wars. But this afternoon my eldest asked to watch Star Wars so I just think that he goes through phases of thing that he likes (like we all do)
I had a challenge getting my eldest to settle but he eventually crashed. I am hoping that as the wind has died down he will sleep tonight. My daughter also settled off nicely, which is really good considering she does not have her favourite blanket. It was funny though as my eldest has just noticed that I had taken a blanket off his bed, bless him he did not understand that she needs it for the next few days.

A bad sleep and my eldests PLP meeting
Last night was not a good night. I knew it would be as it was windy, and bless my eldest he is scared by it.
It did not start well, as I snapped at my daughter for not settling off well. I felt so bad about it, but thankfully I got the opportunity to give her lots of cuddles before she settled off. My eldest settled off well, but he woke later and would not settle off, no matter what I did or said to him.
I brought him through and did my jobs while he was in bed. He would not settle, and in the end he was still awake when I crashed. It took him ages before he settled and I was not in a good mood by the end of it, as I knew that I was up early in the morning.
Thankfully I managed to get up in the morning and get the younglings ready with no problems.
Homestart was cut short due to the weather and my daughter’s blanket was left there by accident but it went funkily.
In the afternoon when I went to collect my eldest from nursery I remembered that I was due to have a meeting with my eldests teacher, to talk about his personal development plan. It went really well. I did remember things that I could have told her after I had got home, so I will tell her tomorrow.
She said that he is settling in well and is popular. She said that he is too enthusiastic through and that does scare the other children at times, but it is nice to know that he is liked, and that if he just calmed down a bit more then he would be even more liked. I am not sure how we are going to work on getting him to calm down, but I will have to do my best about that.
It was sweet though, when I was reading to him tonight he was asking why it was dark at night, and once I had told him I asked him if he wanted a space scene on his ceiling. He said yes but he also wants Harry Potter on the wall. He also said that he wants Star Wars as well so I will have to see what I can get done for him.

Back to challenging sleeping again
After a couple of good sleeps my eldest is now pretty much back to normal. One night when he came through he fidgeted so much that I sent him back to his bed. He moaned about but thankfully settled off. At least he has not been bad every night. Hopefully he can start to gradually pick up better sleeping habits.
My daughter also did not sleep well last night. I had to go through to hr three times in the night. Thankfully though all she needed was a quick cuddle before putting back in the cot.
Devil Boy and I have been managing to spend more time with the younglings. We have both had fun doing it and the younglings have liked it too.
I have ordered my eldests presents in plenty of time for his birthday but he managed to see one of them so I decided to pass it onto him early. It was only a little present sop that was not too bad.
I also got the younglings little toy lightsabers. They were free with cereal a few years ago, but as we have misplaced our stash of them Devil Boy managed to find some on E-Bay. Two of them arrived this morning and they really like them.

The twin’s two-year development check
The health visitor called by this morning to give the twins their two-year check.
They did really well. They stacked the blocks nicely and they drew with a crayon. The health visitor said she would call back in about 6 months, as she wants to check how my daughter’s speech has developed. She will not need to check my youngest son as his speech is developing really nicely. I am not worried about my daughter’s speech though as my eldest was exactly the same and his speech is really good now.
My eldests sleeping has been wonderful for the last few days. The last two nights he has come through at 7am. That is amazing and we will see how it develops but hopefully this good stage will last for a while. I asked my friend for some tips and she said that I should say to him that if he sleeps well we would do something that he likes. I could not think of what I could temp him with so I just told him that if he sleeps well he would get a biscuit. I have my fingers crossed that this continues as it is good to get a good sleep. Even though the twins did not help last night sadly by waking a few times but at least they settled off quickly.

Happy birthday to the twins
Today the twins are two years old. I cannot believe how quickly it has gone. It really does not seem that long since I gave birth to them and now they are two. I put my eldest in a pretty polka dot dress that my friend gave to her. She looked so sweet. I think I will put it on her for homestart on Thursday.
Me eldest was not happy when I sang happy birthday to them though, bless him he could not understand why I was not saying happy birthday to him.
They got some funky stuff and they particularly liked what my mum got for my daughter. She got her a Fifi and the flowertot thingie. But they both loved it.
We all had a funky day and once again the younglings settled off into their new bedtime routine nicely. Sadly DS1 has woken and he does not seem to be settling off. He wants me to read to him but I am not able to do that. Hopefully he will settle off.

I changed the younglings sleeping routine
A comment that made me think about how I put the younglings to bed so tonight I put the twins to bed before I put my eldest to bed.
I thought that it would not work out as when my eldest was in the bath I could hear the twins blethering to each other. Thankfully though they settled off with no problems (even though it was an hour earlier than usual) and my eldest settled off with no challenges as well. I just have to hope that they sleep through the night (fingers crossed)

He is back to nursery and he is sleeping badly again
My eldest is back to nursery so I have been blessed with some time in the day to0 relax, go on the computer or get some housework done (I also need to locate the helmet for the Boba Fett toy that my eldest son has, I thought it was in on of my bags but I was wrong)
He has settled back to nursery nicely and he is happy to be back there. He is really happy to go back and even though today is Saturday he asked to go to nursery, bless him.
His sleeping is really bad at the moment. He keeps waking in the night and not settling off again so he has ended up in bed with us. He thankfully sleeps well when he is with us but I really would love it if he stayed asleep in his own bed or if he got up in the night if he settled off to sleep again. I will have to find out how we can do that.
My daughter did something really sweet the other day. We got them a Thomas the tank engine push along thingie each. They really like them but she does not sit on it like the boys do. She gets toys and sits them on it instead and pushes them around (it has also encouraged the boys to do the same) the other day though I saw her doing this but she was also putting a baby wipe across the toys lap like a blanket and then she leant over the toy and kissed it on the head before pushing it around (while keeping checking to see if it was still straight) It was just so cute to see. I really never would have imagined a toddler of her age being as gentle and as affectionate as what she is.

Fighting what I want him to do at every stage
My eldest is going through a challenging time of not only refusing to do as I ask but also screaming when I eventually manage to get him to do what I want him to do.
The strangest one though is when it comes to nighttime. I tell him it is bath time and that is when the protests begin. He screams and says that he does not want to go in. I tell him to get in and eventually when he has got in he is happy. He enjoys his bath and thankfully the only thing that he does not protest about it getting his teeth cleaned. He does moan when it is time to get out of the bath and says he does not want to say goodnight to everyone. He does it though but hr saves his next protest for when it is time to take him through to his bedroom. He even protests at time about going into bed. Thankfully he does not moan when I read to him but sometimes his moaning and protests can be tiring. It would be just so funky is one night he can do the nighttime routine without moaning.
The twins are also beginning to be wee pests as well though ~I do count myself very lucky that even though they are nearly two they are doing well. The twins have taken to going where they should not go (like the back of the television) and just generally doing things that they should not do. They also give you the cheekiest smiles and giggle when you say no to them. They both look so cute in their own way when they smile. My daughters nose scrunches up and she has a funky glint in her eyes and my son looks just so cheeky. I can just imagine him having a Han solo type smile when he is older.

Happy New Year
Wow we are in 2008 already. Time really does seem to fly. When I was younger I always thought time dragged…now I know differently.
Thankfully my youngest son is a lot better today and is eating more as well. My daughter also still has a cough but thankfully she seems to have escaped the worst of it like what my sons had and my eldest son is nearly back to normal. He still has a bit of a cough but is much better now.
I have been busy this morning as Devil boy was at his friend’s house last night for Hogmanay. It was nice spending the New Year on my own. I was really busy though. I managed to make up a DVD cabinet. Thought I managed to put the doors the wrong way round. I will sort that out. I also had a lot of cleaning to do so it was really late by the time I went to bed. I really must make sure that I go to bed earlier tonight.
I have been listening to a lot of music this morning for a change. I do not listen to enough music at the moment. Today I have been in the mood for Marillion. I have not listened to them for ages and I have really have enjoyed it. I even danced with the younglings at one point.
Here is to a hopefully very funky 2008.
