My eldest was upset in the evening

The night last night went well. The younglings slept well and even though I was chocked up last night by the morning I felt a lot better and I was able to breathe through my nose.

The day went well and the younglings were all funky as well. There were a few moments but generally everything went well. My daughter has taken to a bear that I got recently. She is so nice to it. It is so sweet to see her. She holds it gently and even put her favourite blanket across it to keep it warm. It really is so cute.

The bath time went well and the twins went off to sleep with no major problems. My daughter needed to be resettled but that was it.

The challenges came when I came to put my eldest to sleep. He did not want to go to bed. He screamed and screamed before throwing himself to the floor. I really had to work hard to keep calm. I got him into his room and every stage was a battle. I eventually got him into bed and he was still screaming. I eventually got him to calm down by staying quiet and letting him scream until he noticed that I was not going to do anything until he stopped.

I read to him and that went really well but he would not settle when I was time to leave. He kept saying one more page but by then I’d had enough. It took him ages to settle off and the start of our doing the yoga was interrupted. Thankfully it did not take too long after it had started before he had gone.

I was really happy with how I handled the situation. I managed to stay calm and I did not snap at him at all. It was really hard and I could feel the temptation to give into the temper arising but I forced a serene feeling to go through me, and it worked. I just need to remember this for the next time. It will then become easier the more times that I do it.
