Wednesday 9th August – I went to see the Bees

The day went really funkily and I managed to find out how to get to the place where I was seeing the Bees. I also managed to sort out enough milk for Devil boy.

I got the train with no problems and when t arrived in Edinburgh I started my challenge of finding the place.

I took a rather scenic route (I had managed to get a map from the train station but I went wrong a few times and needed to ask several people where to go) but I got there in the end.

I got there in plenty of time and managed to get a couple of drinks before the support band came on. It was a shame though as there were no interesting non-alcholoic drinks for me to have so I just had orange juice. The support band was rather funky. I have unfortunately forgotten what they were called.

The Bees came on and they were fantastic. They played for a while and they did one thing that I have never seen a band do before. Most of the band changed instruments for different songs. So the lead singer changed and played the piano then played the drums and he also played the trumpet. They are most talented bands that I have seen. They were so funky. I was lucky that I managed to get right to the front.

It was a lovely atmosphere and there was no pushing about. There was plenty of room to dance and I did not feel trapped in or squashed. I also really enjoyed that thee is a smoking ban as well.

One of the band members (the main guitarist) was wearing a bright red cowboy hat. I thought that was so funky as I was wearing my red bowler hat. At the end of the concert when I was buying a T-Shirt I managed to see him and I asked him if I could take a photo of him with my hat on and he agreed to do so. He was really funky as well because my camera was taking its time to take the photo and he patiently waited for it to take. Bless him.
