I am so, so fed up of the damp in this place. I was sorting through the clothes in the younglings room when not only did I discover that the walls where the twins clothes are being kept are damp but that some of the clothes are smelling musty (that is a smell that I am also sick of)
It was my daughters princess dress that was the worst. I put it away to keep it safe. I had a look at it today as I thought it was be good to wear on dress up day on Thursday. There was damp on it and patches of mould. Thankfully it really is not noticeable now. I have wiped it down (you cannot machine wash dress up clothes, I found that out the hard way)
I phoned up the housing association to ask if they knew how long it would take to a new home. They were sadly not able to help us and he just told us that we are just going to have to keep waiting. I just wish that they were able to help us or at least let us know how long we could have to wait. I also just wish we knew how far up the list that we are. We really have to move though as if the damp is doing this to our possesions then what is it doing to our health.
At least I was able to see what had happened to my daughters dress so that I was able to clean it up. Also I was able to discover it before I was unable to clean it. It would have been really sad, especially as she has only had it since Christmas.
It was good motivation to actually phone up the housing association. I really hope that they are able to help us in some way, or at least even to just record what we have said that that we have phoned up to ask. Sadly there are times when pester power does work. I do not want to though.
For now though I am going to have to get rid of as much of the clutter as possible. It seems that this place gets worst when the clutter piles up and it is really piled up at the moment.
