A challenging night shift

The night did not go to well. Both of the twins were very unsettled and I spent most of the night dealing with them. I had planned on getting things sorted once Wolfie had gone to bed but that did not work out.

I took them through in the end and I managed to get Elbereth settled at around 2am.

I could not get Malach to settle though. He would fall asleep and then when I put him in his basket he would wake up. In the end at gone three I put him in bed with me, as I was shattered.

I managed to get a good sleep and I fed them both in the morning and got up a bit later than I would have normally done but I needed the rest. I have to admit that I am very grateful that Devil boy does not work at the moment as it means that he can look after Wolfie in the morning which means that I can get the much needed sleep.

The rest of the morning (what was left of it anyway) went well. I managed to get Wolfie to take a nap again and I dealt with getting the twins ready. They then needed a bit of feeding but thankfully by the time Devil boy’s daughter cam around they had both settled off.

When his daughter was around I decided that I would get all of the job’s that I wanted to get done last night done now. I thought that it was going to be more than likely that I would not get a chance during the night.

I managed to get a few things done but unfortunately when I left the twins room one of the times the door mechanism broke which then meant that I could not get back in.

I tried several times and Devil boy tried for a while to get in before he had to break the door in the end to get in. By that point I was just happy to get in the room.

The afternoon went quite well. It was the usual Wednesday chaos involving Wolfie and Devil boy’s daughter running about like loons. Thankfully when they scream now it is mostly in Wolfies bedroom so that does not hurt my ears so much.

Wolfie has been good today. I am hoping to be able to spend more time with Wolfie during the day when the twins sleep as he has been spending so much time with Devil boy he is getting rather upset when he goes out, to the toilet etc. It will also be nice just to spend quality time with him.

As I thought would happen earlier on I have spent most of the evening feeding, changing the twins etc. I am dealing with Elbereth while I type this. Though it seems to be going better tonight than it did last night (not so many nappy changes as well so far) I am hoping that the night shift will go better. I have to be up at a certain time tomorrow so I have my fingers crossed for how well tonight goes. Malach is crying again as I type this but he has periods of silence. He has been fed, winded etc so I think he is just in the process of settling off to sleep.
