Dad had his operation as well as a busy day for me

The night shift went well. The twins woke up in turns and I decided that I would have to go through to the bedroom at nearly 2am so that Devil boy could get some rest.

They were unsettled at first but I managed to get them to settle nicely before I got a good sleep. I had to feed them several times but they settled quickly afterwards.

In the morning I pottered about on the internet too much which meant that I had to rush about to get the twins ready for homestart, while Wolfie was running about and trying to jump on me as generally get in the way. I got into rather a flap at one point but I was ready on time. Thankfully though the mini bus was late though which gave me chance to get extra things ready and find some of the things that I originally could not find.

The group went really well and the twins went into the double buggy that my friend had taken up to the group for me to use. I asked if I could take it home and then bring it to the group each week instead. It is a narrower buggy than the huge one that I have so if I have to get out in a hurry then that would be a really good pram to use. It was really nice of my friend to have through of me when finding a new home for her old double buggy. It would have been really easy for her to have just thrown it away.

A woman brought in some clothes that her daughter had grown out of so my friend sorted through for clothes for her daughters and any clothes that were too small for her daughters went into a pile for Elbereth. They will not fit her for a while yet but it is always good to stock up on clothes. Malach will get all of Wolfies old clothes so it is good that Elbereth also has clothes ready for her to grow into.

Wolfie seems to be getting so much better. He does not seem so eager to slap. He still needs a lot of attention and reassurance and he does still act up but he is a lot better. When I went to get him from the crèche at the end of the group he ran up to me and gave me a big hug. He will also kiss the twins when I ask him to so I am really happy with how he is doing.

Mum phoned me up to let me know how well his operation went. She told me that all went well from what they could tell thankfully. He will be heavily sedated all this evening and he is still on the ventilator. But gradually through the night they will take him off the various machines as he starts to recover and his heart gets stronger. I am so glad that he has got through the operation funkily though. I just have to keep my fingers crossed that his recovery goes just as well. I am going to go out and get a card for him tomorrow as well as some crossword books so that he will have something to do. The recovery will be so long and he will not even be able to lift a kettle for a while so he needs something to do to keep boredom at bay. He will not be able to lift a kettle due to the surgery. Because they have had to open his chest and wire it back together any strain could damage the work that has been done so he has to wait until the bone starts to mesh together again. I must admit that it is a huge weight off my mind to know that he has at least got through the operation. Hopefully when mum calls again tomorrow she will be able to let me know how he is recovering.
Wolfie settled off to sleep first time tonight and after Devil boy had done that he went off to his friends house for the night. He has not been to his friend’s house for a while now so it has been good for him to get out.

I have also enjoyed being on my own as well. I have been on the radio 1 website and listened to the show called the Blue Room which is a repeat of the show from last Sunday. It is a really funky show. I have not listened to a radio show for a while. When I lived in Nottingham I listened to the radio all of the time as I did not have a TV. I especially loved listening to John Peel. I must try and listen to the radio shows that I used to listen to more often as I am embarrassingly behind with the new music that is out.

The twins have been really good tonight. The have taken good feeds and are now sleeping. Malach was a little unsettled but I managed to clean the kitchen and the back room before I needed to go and see to him.

I am just relaxing now before going to bed ready for the start of the next night shift.
