The twins were a real challenge to settle last night. I managed to get them settled in the end but I was truly shattered and I did not bother settling them in their baskets, as I was too tired to do so.
They woke several times in the nigh but I managed to get a good sleep.
I got up earlier than usual which gave me change to get some things done. Devil boy took Wolfie around to his grandma’s house so I managed to tidy up a little sort out our sock baskets, cut out liners for the twins nappies and wash clothes.
When Devil boy got back I gave Wolfie something to eat while telling me that his niece was around at his grandmas as well with his brother. His niece is only 5 ½ months younger than Wolfie. When Devil boy’s brothers ex was pregnant I was worried that there would be comparisons. This again happened today. They were happy with her because she was saying Wolfie name. They obviously think Wolfie is behind with his speech. I really do not like this. He is not even two. There is still plenty of time for him to develop his speech. He has concentrated on his movements first. He has wonderful balance (he can stand on one foot and put his other foot in a shoe) and he runs about everywhere) babies and toddlers do everything in their own time. I really do not like the pressure that is involved with their milestones. Unless there is a problem why cannot people let babies learn things in their own way?
Devil boy also confessed to me that he had also been handing money to his grandma to save for him. He has now saved enough to upgrade his computer. I am so impressed that he has managed to do this. Before I dated him he was shocking at saving money. It is great that he is doing so well. LOL though I have not been able to save anything for a while. I am going to have to start putting some money aside so I can buy Star Wars books from time to time.
After Wolfie had something to eat I managed to get him to take a daytime nap again. I am really pleased that he took another daytime nap I am not sure I will manage to get him to take a daytime nap tomorrow because of the time of the group but we will see what happens.
The rest of the day went well and Wolfie was mostly well behaved. The twin’s were disruptive and I spent most of my time changing them, feeding them, winding them and feeding them again. They are sleeping now but Malach is stirring. I hope that they are not so challenging to settle tonight.
Devil boy did annoy me a little. Devil boy was passing Elbereth and Wolfie tried to take her and Devil by slapped him lightly on his head. I really do not like this, as I do not think it is a good way of disciplining. When I told him he told me that I was becoming like Ned Flanders from the Simpson’s. That really annoyed me as just because I do not like that form of discipline does not mean I am like that character. He said later that he would not hit him though. You can discipline a child without hitting
Wolfie did not settle first time tonight but he did when he had been read to for the second time. I have to confess that I do like reading to him though.
I also managed to get the twins in cloth nappies. I am really happy that I have got them in Terries now. I was worried at first as they seemed so small so I though that if I used all of the disposables that I had been given and brought I would change then over to Terries. I have just about ran out now so I decided to try Malach in a terry earlier and it fitted fine so I put Elbereth in a terry and it did not totally swamp her which I was worried about. Now starts the fun with the amount of nappies that I will need to wash.
I managed to get the magazine competitions sent off tonight. I am running behind with them so I will have to spend the next few days catching up with them. I am sure that by Thursday I will be up-to-date (fingers crossed)
