Thursday 19th January 2006 – I think we are getting there slowly

The night shift went pretty much the same as lat night with Devil boy staying up to let me get sleep while he looked after the twins. He told me when I was going through to the back room that he is all right for not getting much sleep and that he will be able to catch up at some point. I think he is feeling a little bad that he can not help with feeding them o is helping in anyway that he can.

I have decided that I will not let him do this again tonight, as I would like for him to get a good nights sleep. He is a great help by keeping Wolfie entertained while I feed the twins and he will not be able to do that so well if he is shattered as well.

I phoned up homestart to let them know that the twins have been born but also to say that I will miss this week but will be returning next week. They will be putting car seats in for next week for the twins. I think it will be nice for Wolfie to get back into his routine as soon as possible. I think the homestart group is really good for him to go to. It will also mean that Devil boy will also get some free time.

The midwife came around in the morning. She had someone else with here who I assume was a trainee midwife. She also brought a big bag of sleep suit for the twins with a load of nappies. I cannot believe how lovely people have been since having the twins. They have been so willing to help out which is lovely. The midwife told me that if I need anything else that I should just let her know.

The twins are funky today and he noted that they aren’t looking so jaundiced so I am hoping that they are not only putting on a little weight but also recovering from their jaundice. She checked me and told me that I was getting on nicely as well. She said that I was eating well but that I need to drink much more fluid. She said that could be why I am also constipated at the moment.

I made sure that I drank lots of juice and herbal tea for the rest of the day.

I also managed to get a lot done around the living room. I managed to sort through some of the clothes and go through some of the many bags that are at the back of the sofa.

I also managed to get some rest before I took the twins through to the back room ready for the night shift. Devil boy also managed to get chance to play battlefield 2 for a bit tonight as well. He told me that I was to go through as soon as I needed help.
