My partner treated me to a day off the school run. I had to get up at nine when the builders came around but it was just nice not to have to rush out. He will be off into college tomorrow and he has booked Wednesday to go fishing.
The builders were injecting silicone into the wall. Hopefully that will all that will be needed to sort out the damp problem. I was right about my suspicions about the landlord lying about getting that done some months ago. Trying to save money in hoping that what he had done was enough but the problem was bigger than that. I really do hope that what they have done is enough to solve the problem.
This gave me a good opportunity to work on the clothes pile in the bedroom. I am really pleased with what I have managed to do. There are still some bags that need sorting through but the bedroom looks much better and now that the place is drying out I was able to push the bed back so giving the bedroom much more space.
Though it seems that as soon as I have cleaned one room there is another room that needs cleaning. After only cleaning the kitchen on Sunday the side is once again cluttered. I am not sure that I know how. I did notice that my partner keeps putting things in the kitchen that I said should not be there. I will be able to get that done tomorrow though so that will not be too bad. I would like it if I was able to keep the kitchen clean every day.
I also wish that my partner would notice and appreciate the work that I do to maintain the home being clean. When he does the dishes I always thank him for doing them, but I get nothing for my work. There are times when I just do not feel appreciated. He does not have to lavish praise on me but a simple 'the place is looking nice' or 'you have done a good job' would be all that I would like to get.
